Your absolutely right.
However, that’s how researchers-demographers categorize and label.

Researching ‘Asian’ as a demographic yields some very interesting contrasts among ethnicities if you can find studies that break them out.

If my memory is correct, the Indian population had they highest family stability scores and fit the model of what we once knew as the traditional family (highest rate of marriage, lowest divorce rate, child abandonment does not exist, strongest cohesiveness of extended family unity, and virtually no one lives alone - always with a bro, sis, cousin, aunt or some familial relation.)
They also had the highest rate of Bachelor, Masters and PhD degrees, surpassing the degree holders among White-Americans. They also had <.01% figures on incarceration as did most of the rest of the labeled ‘Asian ethnicities.’ But, at the same time, we need to examine this from the perspecitve that only the most fortunate of the native India population is able to immigrate to the US.

So instead of finding out why poor-to-middle income Asians do significantly better at school than poor-to-middle income Blacks and poor-to-middle income Hispanics— liberals just ask for more money!! Unbelievable.

The upsetting thing for Liberals is that low-income Asians score better on the SAT than upper-middle-class blacks. It blows away a lot of their favorite theories if examined too closely.

It has a lot of “Asian” polling info that goes back several years.

However in more recent years they have gotten sloppy in conflating ethnicities as mentioned in the above post.

Asians are too small a % (3-4) to be the problem. Plus, the majority contribute very greatly to American society. The huge majority come from “in-tact” families, stable homes, and have advanced very well through the education system. They are hard-working entrepeuneurs and established professionals. They are misaligned with the Donkey party for odd reasons like global warming or wrongly thinking it is the party of non-discrimination. If they have been raised in ‘collectivism’ they may not yet understand or appreciate individualism and independence.

Vietnamese, Koreans, and some Chinese who have lived in or near Communism clearly recognize our trainUSA has left the station.
Cubans sadly see it, too.
I witnessed Cubans openly weeping after the election.
They said “Cuba got change in 1959” and “I can’t believe America would fall like this.” Likewise, the few Vietnamese I have spoken with are mortified in disbelief.

The Chinese men and women I knew in Taiwan (I lived there for most of the 90s) had no trouble packing it away. And those Tibetans were mean drunks!

Fewer Asians at college keggers may simply mean that they are a little more serious about their studies than the average Joe (or Jane) Campus. If so, good for them!

Plenty DON’T, as far as I can tell.

Are you telling me that all of the bars I saw — and visited — when I was there existed because Chinese like to puke their guts out on a regular basis? They must puke very quietly (and out of sight!)

Actually, there are BILLIONS and BILLIONS of Asians. If only half of them had the ability to show up at bars on Friday night, then that would be a lot less than the “MANY Asian origin folks” from your first post.

It looks like you tested and counted them all.

How many is many? 10,000 out of 2 billion? 100,000 out of 2 billion? Sickle-cell anemia is an inherited problem that occurs in populations of African descent, but to say that MANY Africans have it, without quantifying that many, is idiotic.

Or, let’s look at Tay-Sachs disease. Everyone knows that it is more prevalent among Ashkenazi Jew and French Canadian populations. However, that doesn’t mean that MANY Ashkenazi Jews have Tay-Sachs (it’s a rare disease in any population, just not as rare among the Ashkenazi).

Seems to me that if a country has breweries and distilleries, and bars, and beer and spirits readily available for sale, that MANY here actually means A FEW.

I read pieces like that before my first post. No quantification of the occurrence of this phenomena — no wonder you like this source of information. It’s as vague about numbers as you are.

Get a life, and stop mischaracterizing Asians, East or South, as being folks who can’t safely drink liquor.

True enough, the reaction varies ~ kind of like fish allergies. About half the people in the world have one ~ but not all to the same degree. The other half eat fish like poptarts.

If you go looking for them in beerjoints you are not likely to find many.

Oddly enough, I know a good number of them too, also fine folks. Some of the younger ones go to bars; others drink at home (especially when there’s a holiday meal) or at restaurants.

By the way, when I went to a bar or restaurant when in Taiwan I drank Coke or tea. I’m a teetotaler.
