Our Church is very conscious of its image and of doing the right thing. When things like this happen, it allows Mormon Haters to burst forth and to join with those who are conscious of our border problem, such as me. Since I have been subjected to bigotry most of my life...

#1, isn't it to automatically label all followers of Christian sects as apostate sects;
to label all their professing believers "corrupt";
all their creeds "an abomination" before the Lord [Pearl of Great Price, Joseph Smith - History, vv. 18-20]
-- isn't that intolerably "bigoted?"

#2, If somebody is wrong re: as to accuse others of being "hate-filled" when they aren't, doesn't that come closer to "hate" than to "love?"

Did you mean when things like this happen -- or when things like this are FOUND OUT? (Especially in light of post #15?)

The Mormon Church is comprised of volunteers. Nearly every member has a “calling”. Mine is to serve as an Employment Specialist in assisting members and non members find jobs. I have never knowingly placed an illegal in any position. Further, I live in Phoenix and our construction industry is struggling. Illegals are not sucking up the jobs here.

I really do not appreciate your referencing my post, #15, in the manner of a "hate" or "Mormon hater" comment. It is a false accusation and it insinuates an intolerance on my part for the religious choices of others. This is a falsehood. I suggest that you look further for evidence of "Hate" to support your conclusions. I have no doubt that it would be an easy search. However you will waste your time and energies by looking into my positions.

Also, re-read the comment and notice the time frame I spoke of - the mid-80s. If things are different now, I neither know or really even care. It was true at that time. I witnessed it and spoke with a number of illegals who had "joined" the Mormon/LDS church expressly because it allowed them easy access to the USA and work. Perhaps their acceptance of the Mormon/LDS tenets of faith were sincere. I do not know and will not presume to know what was/is in the soul and conscience of another. I only know what I was told, at that time, by those who I spoke with.

This was my first, and I think will be my only, post on any of the Mormon/LDS threads. I did so only as I had a comment that was, IMO, directly relevant to the thread pattern. I have no ill will to those who chose to follow the Mormon/LDS beliefs.
