Supermodel Kathy Ireland Lashes Out Against 'Pro Choice'
One News Now ^ | 4/28/2009 | Josh Friedeman

Here is an excerpt of an interesting piece from FOXNEWS about how previously "pro-choice" supermodel Kathy Ireland went from believing in abortion to speaking out against about it:

"My entire life I was pro-choice — who was I to tell another woman what she could or couldn’t do with her body? But when I was 18, I became a Christian and I dove into the medical books, I dove into science."

...

"What I read was astounding and I learned that at the moment of conception a new life comes into being. The complete genetic blueprint is there, the DNA is determined, the blood type is determined, the sex is determined, the unique set of fingerprints that nobody has had or ever will have is already there."

However Ireland admitted that she did everything she could to avoid becoming a believer in pro-life.

"I called Planned Parenthood and begged them to give me their best argument and all they could come up with that it is really just a clump of cells and if you get it early enough it doesn’t even look like a baby. Well, we’re all clumps of cells and the unborn does not look like a baby the same way the baby does not look like a teenager, a teenager does not look like a senior citizen. That unborn baby looks exactly the way human beings are supposed to look at that stage of development. It doesn’t suddenly become a human being at a certain point in time," Ireland argued. "I’ve also asked leading scientists across our country to please show me some shred of evidence that the unborn is not a human being. I didn’t want to be pro-life, but this is not a woman’s rights issue but a human rights issue."

Good for Miss Ireland. How long before the leftists in the Hollywood, Fashion Industries completely blacklist her?

"I’ve also asked leading scientists across our country to please show me some shred of evidence that the unborn is not a human being. I didn’t want to be pro-life, but this is not a woman’s rights issue but a human rights issue."

Amen.

Yep, the black list will include her.

I like how she said she dove into science and what the scientific research indicated. Because the liberals have lectured us how the Bush administration stance on abortion rights, stem cells, etc. was somehow glossing over the scientific research. Liberals are oh so happy now that we have an administration that believes in science again. Or so they say.

“who was I to tell another woman what she could or couldn’t do with her body”

No one tells the woman she has to have sex if she doesn’t want to. That’s called rape and it’s against the law. The discussion is what do to with someone else’s body.

Good for her. Like her, I switched from pro-choice to pro-life when I could no longer live in denial that a fetus is a human being, a human baby.

I don't think she's worried about Hollyweird. She's been out of modeling for quite a while and she's an established force in the apparel markets.

I talked about the change of attitudes towards abortion in another thread.

This is but one small bit of evidence in that mountain of evidence.

Good for Ms. Ireland. She’s still a babe, but now she’s a babe with brains ... and a soul.

I’ve never understood how someone could believe that life begins at conception, yet still say “I can’t make that choice for someone else.”

If you believe it’s alive, what kind of person are you to stand aside while someone murders a defenseless innocent?

Indeed. Kathy Ireland is a woman, like Carrie Prejean, who is beautiful both inside and out. And I appreciate her intellectual integrity in learning the scientific truth about abortions and letting the truth change her mind rather than suppressing it.
