Purge the RINOs and the RINO Apologists
4/28/09 | Natural law

Posted on 04/28/2009 7:57:14 PM PDT by Natural Law

I am as sick to death of RINO apologists as I am the RINOs themselves. Too many real conservatives took a lot of flack here on FR during the last mid term and presidential election cycles for expecting Republicans to actually legislate like Republicans rather voting for every Obama-lite candidate with an “R” after their names who just might be electable. To too many, elections are about partisan score keeping and not about the direction and future of the country.

Many conservatives received a lot of undeserved criticism because they refused to vote straight party line or choose the lesser of two evils, opting instead to withhold their vote when neither candidate represented me. All one need to do to see the folly of voting for RINOs is the passing of the Stimulus, the Prescription Drug program, and the confirmation of pro-abortion appointees and judges.

It isn't about party politics or which party is in power. No party owns me or my vote. It is about principle and voting for candidates who, based upon record and not campaign rhetoric, will work staunchly for the conservative principles I believe in. I would much rather be represented by a legitimately conservative minority party than by a RINO majority who moves us toward socialism only slightly more slowly than Obama.

I’m tired of insipid vanities.

All you have to do is to win primaries and general elections and then you don’t have to write whiney vanities.

"I’m tired of insipid vanities."

Sounds like one of the RINO apologists trying to rationalize an irrational position. If you don't like them don't read and respond to them.

Well, where do you live? If you live in any state and congressional district where it is feasible to elect a conservative, I doubt anyone on FR would ever implore you to vote for a RINO.

But, if you’re a place where we need to unseat a heavy duty leftist, and conservatives haven’t proved electable, well. . . don’t forget that politics is the art of the possible.

The GOP and country was laid to waste by that RINO POS McCain and what does the Republican “leadership” do? The bast*rds trot out Steele to get our house in order.

I was a Democrat up until 1976 when the party left me. I feel much more betrayed by this current crop of RINO leaders than I did in ‘76. I once again feel like a man without a party.

Never again will I betray my conservatism for these characters. The country is well on the way to hell with RINOs, we won't get there any faster if the socialist votes they cast have a D behind them.

Next thing you know, Mitt Romney will pop out of the woodwork, big as life and twice as toothy, and start advising us to vote for more “moderates,” as if we can’t use John “I was a prisoner of war” McCain as “Exhibit A” for what happens when we do!

(Is anyone else beginning to, just a little bit, if not exactly sympathize with, then at least begin to understand why the North Vietnamese wanted to treat that smarmy arse so badly?)

BUMP.

I wish I could say some here have forgotten that, but it's worse. Not only did they never know it, they don't even want to learn.

Whiney vanity? I’m completely confused as to just what you are trying to tell us from your lofty position. Some of us down here need just a tad more explanation.

These Traitors have to be purged! Why the fuss they vote with the Rats anyway so no loss there..The positive side is the party will be more cohesive without these Lousy Democrat spies and Quislings..

Did it ever occur to you the persons you deride as “RINOs” may be doing exactly what they are supposed to do ; ie: represent the interests of those whom they serve ?

You have a viewpoint - and it may be the same one I share-but conservatives have been the tail of the dog for a very, very long time. In fact, considering the last election results, we are more the tip of the tail than anything else.

Insisting everyone else get in step with us-or else-is about like the fabled flea - floating down the river on his back, and screaming “ Open the drawbridge !”

Have you ever looked at his actual voting record? For instance he and Kyl voted against Sebelius today. Specter, Collins and Snowe voted FOR her...... if he is defeated in the primary I will vote for whoever wins, but if he wins I WILL vote for him in the general... people need to use their heads and make the changes in the primaries.

Only for about a nanosecond. Politicians need to at least have the honesty to run as a democrat when they run as a democrat. Voters need to discern if a politician is running for office because he wants to do so something or if he wants to be something. Those who will say anything to get elected are in the latter category and are not to be trusted. Those who would vote for them are misguided.

I would, only to prevent the 60 vote Senate, but that ship has sailed, so to hell with the rinos. They either stand with us or against us.

“Voters need to discern if a politician is running for office because he wants to do so something or if he wants to be something”

It bears repeating.
Basically, what Specter told us today is that he doesn’t know what else to do with his life.
That’s his problem, and it shouldn’t be ours.

True, but that's the trend here. There's a reason I haven't bothered posting here much for months. Too much "If you're not in lockstep on *every issue*, you're not welcome here."

This is the USA. Last I checked, personal freedom was important, not whether I agreed with everyone here on every single issue. However, posts like this are getting more common all the time. At this rate, it'll be right back around to "Freedom means only what we say it does."

No thanks.

Pipe down, noob.

This is a conservative website, not a RINO or a GOP website. Your noobness raises my suspicions, as we have had a lot of trolls here lately, playing divide and conquer.

Natural Law is expressing what many of us feel. Conservatives have been treated like mushrooms in the GOP for years—kept in the dark and fed a line of sh#t.

No more. The GOP is nothing without us. We’re the base.

Too bad is they are ashamed of us.Well, we are ashamed of them.

The GOP is in trouble because it is trying to accommodate people and principles that it does not stand for.

Taking advice from Dems and the MSM is why we are where we are at now.

If the GOP had some testicles, we could be making life difficult for Obama and his fellow fascists with each new outrage he proposes, but instead, like McConnell today, even the kick in the teeth by Arlen Specter doesn’t even merit a raise in voice from the GOP.

They’ll probably all have lunch together after Arlen’s little photo op with Obama tomorrow morning.

Think of the possibilities for Specter's opposition in the election.

"When Arlen Specter saw the prospect of record deficits for the forseeable future he finally found a party he wanted to join....the Democratic Party"
