They had another fly over planned for DC this weekend.
Just about everyone knows that DC is a restricted fly over area.
From the info I got they photo op was to be over the Washington Monument.
No way they get that clearance without the highest authority.

Wow, Cicero, what an amazing post and great find ... the words of this New Yorker at the time as he/she watched with binoculars and tried to figure out what was going on. Untainted first impressions ...
I especially like that the poster specified, The plane made 3 counterclockwise circles total and hasn't been back since. This actually made me less worried because if it were a real emergency or something was wrong, more fighters would have arrived by then and they would not have let the plane circle that low and that close to the city three times. Anyway, I have no idea why they would do that, but it was either AF1 or a 747 painted to look like it. I looked for planes or helicopters that could have been filming and didn't see any, though I see someone else has posted that it was a photo shoot.

Today is day 100.
Another Freeper posted his thoughts that this was a photo op to be used as a backdrop during Obama's teleprompter address tonight. Thought so too myself, just more Obama self gratification.
If there was to be another flyby planned for DC this weekend, makes me think he's going to campaign mode.....on the tax payer's dime.
