This is what jumped off the page at me just now in reading it:
(snip) "This has not been in the media, but a 23 month old in Houston is fighting for his life, and a pregnant woman just south of San Antonio is fighting for her life." (snip)
Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t it a 23-month-old child that was confirmed as the first death in Texas earlier today?
The 23-month old was the first to die in the U.S. - has been on the news or at least online.
That infant in Houston crossed the border from Mexico in Brownsville and wound up at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston .. it has died but the virus was not contracted here
This is what is important about that snippet:
On private health care phone calls, they knew that child was close to death and they were notifying medical professionals that this is serious, folks. That child was on their radar BEFORE it died. Now we all know he has in fact died... But they were concerned enough about his case (and the other one mentioned) to alert all medical professionals that they need to take this seriously here in the US.
Additionally, in one of the articles or news alerts in the last two days, there was a stat that said we have LOTS of cases here in the US who are HOSPITALIZED with this already. I’m on a blackberry so I can’t search/find that right now, and I don’t want to misquote the numbers for others to take as fact, but the gist of it was something like 25% or more of our US “confirmed” cases were in the hospital. So that is either an abundance of preventive measures to ensure they don’t die, OR, a huge percentage of the confirmed cases are seriously ill.
AGAIN, don’t quote me on that percentage... I could be mis-remembering.

.
The Toddler has been reported as visiting from Mexico. He/she was reported as first death from the Mexican flu in the US on this a.m.’s news. In addition it was reported that as part of the visit the toddler spent time at a nall in Houston.
The 23 month old was a Mexican child who came to Texas with his family and then got sick. He had other health problems but I don’t know what they were, the child died in a Houston hospital several days ago. I don’t know anyone in Houston who is sick but several schools have closed until May 11 because of the virus.
