It was a problem before but everytime I pointed it out I would hear “Who cares??, it’s the illegal ones that are bad” .

Well the legal ones get LOTS more expensive benefits.

“In FY 2008, some 1.45 million new immigrants (temporary and permanent) were given work authorization. “

That is just the ones given ‘work authorizations’. NOt all immigrants work. We allow in over 2 MILLION legally every year.

According the the US Government.......Add them up.....legal entries are over 2 million every year. The Obama Administration wants MORE legal immigrants and wants to amnesty 12 to 20 million more illegal aliens!

The National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials said the number of Latinos who became Americans in fiscal year 2008 more than doubled over the previous year, to 461,317. That’s nearly half of the record 1,046,539 new citizens overall in 2008, a 58 percent increase from 2007. http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5gQKI-mUtzRTYIm7MjslLxEoz2zVgD97DFPI01

Study: Illegal Immigrants Having More Kids In US Associated Press ^ | April 14, 2009
http://www.thedenverchannel.com/money/19175382/detail.html

Growing numbers of children of illegal immigrants are being born in this country, and they are nearly twice as likely to live in poverty than those with American-born parents...

Overall, illegal immigrants’ children account for one of every 15 students in kindergarten through 12th grade. In 2008, California had the most illegal immigrants at 2.7 million, double its 1990 number, followed by Texas, Florida, New York and New Jersey.

“In the next eight years, the violent collection of criminal drug cartels could overwhelm the state and establish de facto control over broad regions of northern Mexico,” McCaffrey’s report said. “A failure by the Mexican political system to curtail lawlessness and violence could result in a surge of millions of refugees crossing the U.S. border.”

If these legal immigrants were still back in the old country and these jobs were filled by citizens how much would it lower the unemployment rate?

Weed out the illegals before citing any “immigrant” statistics.

ILLEGALS are NOT “immigrants” !!

Highest unemployment in 25 years & our government is pumping the 3rd world in here faster than we can count.

Our government no longer puts its own people first! Republicam or Democrat! They have both betrayed the people who built this country!

I've seen this time and time again.

The employers lobby to the government to increase the number of foreign workers. They WILL NOT allow the laws to supply and demand to work. They want cheap labor-plain and simple.

We have millions of American out of work but we keep importing people from overseas. Outrageous!

If we just allowed the laws of supply and demand to function then they would discover that we have enough people to do the jobs that are there.

Over 30 years ago when I was a teenager and working my way through college, many students had summer jobs working construction to pay expenses. This was a very beneficial situation. I learned a lot in this job and was about to pay for 50% of my costs. I didn't have any debt when I graduated. I know people who took time off to work construction so they could return to school.

All of this has been destroyed by immigration both legal and illegal. I don't know of any students who work construction today. All the jobs are taken by immigrants both legal and illegal.

I not just against illegal immigration but I'm also in favor of reducing our legal immigration levels back down to 200,000 a year or even less. No more family reunification. This is a never ending stream of people if you think about it.

One of the biggest reasons if not the biggest reason we have a Democratic majority today is because of post 1965 Immigration. The act that was passed in 1965 was the worst thing that ever happened to the United States. It was worse than the great depression, worse than WWI & WW2, Korea, Vietnam and even worse than the Civil War. It went largely unnoticed.

My late father did however notice it. He said at the time that this was the beginning of the end of the United States. I was a small child at the time and couldn't understand what he was talking about. I do now. He was right.
