Air Force One Flyover: Time Amused by White House Lack of Transparency
Newsbusters ^ | May 2, 2009 - 04:59 | P.J. Gladnick

Hee! Hee! Hee!

Isn't it just a laugh riot! We keep asking the White House for information about the Air Force One flyover incident by Lower Manhattan and they keep responding with evasions.

Ha! Ha! Ha!

And then they keep referring us to the Air Force which keeps bouncing the questions back to the White House which, in turn, refers us back to the Air Force again!

Isn't this just too funny!

That pretty much sums up the attitude of Time Magazine towards the Air Force One flyover affair as you can see in this article by Mark Thompson and Michael Scherer:

[..]

Imagine if this fiasco had happened under George Bush’s watch. It would have made the Left’s incessant carping over the “fake plastic turkey,” Mission Accomplished banner, and My Pet Goat incidents look like nothing.

You don’t need transparency when you have Pravda.

Pray for America

Did anyone else catch the cost of this flyover? Over $350K?

We need to give Time, Newsweek and the rest of the MSMs a break. After all, when most of their personnel are still trying to become potty trained, they are not likely to spend much time actually reporting the news.

“We now know thanks to WCBS in NY that the feds knew the “mission” would cause panic and that they went ahead with the secret plans, anyway. There are still a lot more unanswered questions about what happened in the skies above New York City. I have filed two FOIA requests with the Office of the Secretary of Defense and Joint Staff FOIA Requester Service Center seeking more info, including the flight manifests; communications that would shed light on the origin of the “mission,” and copies of any and all photos taken on the taxpayer-subsidized journey. Let’s have some of that vaunted transparency Barack Obama is always talking about.”

So glad they have filed FOIA requests! We should not let this go until we get the truth. There is a scandal here.

Don’t forget that Nazis were also enviromentalists, anti-smoking and pro-vegetarianism.

Is it possible there could be more to the story? Could this have been President Obama's idea? Is he punch drunk?

“Did anyone else catch the cost of this flyover? Over $350K?”

Found this very outdated info online, it dates back to the Clinton era. According to a House subcommittee report, Air Force One costs $40,250 an hour to operate (the Air Force says it's more like $35,000 an hour). So with the price of fuel, what nearly double of what it cost in the 90’s, 350k is a very low estimate just to bloat nObama’s ego.

Yes - and they’re brown-nosing Obama for a big bailout.

Could it be possible a ‘rogue’ AF Pilot hijacked the plane to make a statement that the US Presidency has been hijacked, and the administration has been exceptionally good at keeping the story covered up? Would it be possible to cover up a story that big for this long?

I heard that too. This AF1 episode is just too weird and there are too many questions. I do believe this administration has tons of things to cover up, and the AF1 fiasco might just be one of them. I mean there just cannot be a logical explanation for this. A photo-op? Does anyone buy that apart from the Ofluma lovers?

Imagine if this fiasco had happened under George Bush’s watch....

Actually, for Bush it was the USS Greenville, and given the enormity of the scandal it represented, it was pretty quickly swept under the rug.

Except, of course, for the families of the dead.

Not with reporting like this. This is the surest way to a bail out I can imagine.
