Michelle style: Here's how to get it
St. Louis Post Dispatch ^ | 05-02-09 | Debra D. Bass, Post-Dispatch Fashion Editor

First Lady Michelle Obama continues to ignore the comments of both her fashion critics and fans in deference to what appears to be her own individual style.

< snip >

She's not always the belle of the ball; Obama's had a few looks in the dare-I-say frumpy category, but at her best, she's stunning and modern.

< snip >

When Obama finally met with French first lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, a former model and media darling, it was discussed as a bout of fashion heavyweights. Obama won.

Oh, yeah, Michelle won alright.

LOLOL.

Dear maggief, I have an assignment for you, please.

Put two pics side-by-side: one of those $500+ sneakers and a really nice $500 of stylish shoes.

Would you mind, my dear? :-)

She is a homely woman and her outfits look like a thrift store salad. Hideously hued wool sweaters mistakenly thrown into the dryer and shrunk 2 sizes and skirts made from Grandma’s old kitchen curtains. To describe it as an unpleasant assault on the senses would be an understatement.

Enough of the facia bruta already.

They can repeat this “Michelle is attractive” lie from now until Armageddon happens.

She is butt-fugly and even that is an understatement.

A FReeper from Chicago (ChicagoAl - thanks) told us that on the southside there, dressing like Michelle is called "Ghetto Fabulous." And that suits her style exactly.

Like it is said, you can take the person out of the ghetto but you can't take the ghetto out of the person. If she doesn't have good taste in clothing, that is not a crime. But, as such, when you are representing our country, for goodness sake, hire a fashion consultant...or at least look in a mirror. What Michelle wears, I swear, are outfits that she purposely tries to look terrible in just to insult the U.S. I mean, what woman, especially in the public eye, does not want to look good and wear things that are the right size and actually fit, and are ironed and not wrinkled, and colors that match - at the very least?

Michelle could do so much more for her followers if she raised the bar on dressing appropriately, neatly, and refined instead of lowering it to street level. Imagine all the gals who watch her and now think they can show up for job interviews looking like Michelle does? She could have been an inspirational image for dressing for success.

But not Michelle. She always looks like she has been pilfering the WalMart reject bins for her clothing. I swear, I think this is her way of doing an "in-your-face...I am the presiden's wife so you dare not criticize me even if I look awful, or you are a racist," type act that she is playing.

I have yet to understand why she spends all that money on the crap she wears....If she was Sarah Palin she’d be burned at the stake.

That yellow/orange is actually a winner! Solid, bright color, no pattern, no ditzy ornaments. Brings all her best! For once, the small sweater with belt actually works for her. If she’d put her hair up (she looks very nice with her hair up) it’d be perfect. (See, I also comment when she does it right)

This ragazine cover is photo-shopped beyond belief.

Virtually every ragazine cover today featuring femme celebrities has them photoshopped with their faces and bodies altered/enhanced/improved in some fashion.

I'll bet MichelleMaBelle just WISHES she had a figure like this one.
