Sounds like she might be one of those moms who didn’t do this enough when her daughter was 6. 15 is a little late for that kind of deterrent/punishment.

She needs help, not a police record!

When it is against the law in Texas to "whup" a bad kid we are in serious trouble!

Too late. If the kid is running off with a 47-year-old man at the age of 12, she is ruined anyway. The only hope is that if she somehow finds the Lord. But I doubt she’s going to have much exposure to Him in an environment like that.

I feel sorry for everyone in this situation. Can we agree in prayer for this unfortunate family?

in NYS, a parent is allowed to physically discipline their kid.

we have kids call on their parents all the time. they say their parents beat them.

the parents show us the kids report card or whatever and we usually tell the kids that if we were their parents, we would have hit them harder. and stop calling 911!

Wow. That kid will have the crap beat out of her or she will straighten up quick. Curious to me why ‘the system’ not only punishes parents for basic parenting, but also allows these wild kids a chance to get old enough that they can go to jail where ‘the system’ literally takes their lives from them. Too stupid to think through.

Prevention right now might save that girls very life.

Something’s wrong here. You don’t spank a 15 year old kid. I mean think about it, at 15? Pretty weird.

Having personally been to Tomball. I’d whup those kids too, if they were mine.

I’m just kidding. I don’t know what to make of it all, but my Dad did spank my 15 year old sister (back in 1964) because she smarted off to him and thought she was old enough to do so.

She should try to get emancipated minor status for her kid. That way, she can kick her out of the house and wash her hands of responsibility. In my state that can be conferred at 16. Either that or try and have her committed to a juvenile facility. Kid has to go one way or the other.
