The truth is illegal aliens cost us. They provide no net benefit to America
The Collins Report ^ | May 6, 2009 | Kevin “Coach” Collins

Illegal aliens cost us, they don’t help us.

The nature of any social system is that it must benefit someone in order to continue to survive. The system benefitting no one collapses. The question then becomes: Who is benefitting?

Average Americans don’t benefit from the presence of illegals in our country. Only business interests and Democrats who see illegals as new voters benefit from this invasion.

FAIR, an immigration tracking organization has complied these numbers on the costs of illegals just for Florida alone.

Floridians are paying $3.4 billion to educate illegal alien children and the American born children of those illegally in our country.

The state of Florida pays $290 million a year for health care provided for illegal aliens.

Each year illegal alien incarceration cost the state $90 million.

What these numbers mean

Every Legal resident family in Florida pays an extra $678.00 a year to support those who demand benefits based on their ability to evade federal authorities and illegally remain in Florida.

The State of Florida is facing a $ 6 billion budget deficit almost two third of which are directly attributable to what it is paying to support illegal aliens who have no right to be here let alone consume our budget dollars.

A recent Zogby poll of Florida residents clearly shows the people of Florida fully understand what is happening. More than 71% know illegal aliens have a negative impact on their state.

More than 83% are aware of the needless strain on the state’s budget caused by this problem.

While only 36% would allow amnesty for illegals, and 57% want stronger border enforcement to combat this growing problem.

As Obama’s recession makes things worse in America things will get worse in Mexico. But the Democrats won’t close the border for obvious reasons.

Because of Obama's recession we can't support our own citizens let alone Mexico's. We HAVE to close our borders.

Truth be damned. This is obviously just a rascist issue, pursued by those Conservative Nazi's who want to discriminate against hard working brown skinned families who just want to earn a living.

< Libmode off>

Once a mass amnesty is in place, complete with right to daisy-chain in all the extended family from south of the border, and the masses are put on social security, medicaid, and all the other throw-away programs, things will come crashing down pretty fast.

“We are importing poverty.”

And crime, anti-americanism, and cultural balkanization.

A tip of the hat to our federal overlords who tell us we are xenophobes.

And that doesn’t factor in their use of roads, social programs like LIHEAP, food stamps, social workers, or the cost of the crimes they commit, the car accidents they cause, the murders they commit...

Illegals are a good portion of what is wrong with this country.

The libs know this and are doing everything in their power to cover it up. Fan the flames of the cancer within.

The nation’s immigrant population (legal and illegal) reached a record of 37.9 million in 2007.

Immigrants account for one in eight U.S. residents, the highest level in 80 years. In 1970 it was one in 21; in 1980 it was one in 16; and in 1990 it was one in 13

Overall, nearly one in three immigrants is an illegal alien. Half of Mexican and Central American immigrants and one-third of South American immigrants are illegal.

Since 2000, 10.3 million immigrants have arrived — the highest seven-year period of immigration in U.S. history. More than half of post-2000 arrivals (5.6 million) are estimated to be illegal aliens.

The largest increases in immigrants were in California, Florida, Texas, New Jersey, Illinois, Arizona, Virginia, Maryland, Washington, Georgia, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania.

Of adult immigrants, 31 percent have not completed high school, compared to 8 percent of natives. Since 2000, immigration increased the number of workers without a high school diploma by 14 percent, and all other workers by 3 percent.

The share of immigrants and natives who are college graduates is about the same. Immigrants were once much more likely than natives to be college graduates.

The proportion of immigrant-headed households using at least one major welfare program is 33 percent, compared to 19 percent for native households.

The poverty rate for immigrants and their U.S.-born children (under 18) is 17 percent, nearly 50 percent higher than the rate for natives and their children.

34 percent of immigrants lack health insurance, compared to 13 percent of natives. Immigrants and their U.S.-born children account for 71 percent of the increase in the uninsured since 1989.

Immigrants make significant progress over time. But even those who have been here for 20 years are more likely to be in poverty, lack insurance, or use welfare than are natives.

The primary reason for the high rates of immigrant poverty, lack of health insurance, and welfare use is their low education levels, not their legal status or an unwillingness to work.

Of immigrant households, 82 percent have at least one worker compared to 73 percent of native households.

There is a worker present in 78 percent of immigrant households using at least one welfare program.

Immigration accounts for virtually all of the national increase in public school enrollment over the last two decades. In 2007, there were 10.8 million school-age children from immigrant families in the United States.

Immigrants and natives have similar rates of entrepreneurship — 13 percent of natives and 11 percent of immigrants are self-employed.

Recent immigration has had no significant impact on the nation’s age structure. Without the 10.3 million post-2000 immigrants, the average age in America would be virtually unchanged at 36.5 years.

Now wouldn't this writer be labeled a ‘purists’? Now some people have madoff using cheap labors to clean their toilets, change their children's poopy diapers and edge their sidewalks, and construct government housing. But these opportunists hoisted the health care and education off on to the rest of US because that is their meaning of compassion.

I do NOT blame these people for wanting a better life but there is NOTHING compassionate about sending the underground invitation to come here and take advantage of US.

Illegal aliens do more harm than good. They bankrupt our resources. They bankrupt many goods and services meant for legal citizens. They bankrupt our healthcare and educational systems. They commit crimes. Many join gangs and/or do drugs. Illegals may bring communicable disease into the country. They take jobs away from Americans especially in a bad economy. And the worst thing is that the illegals insult immigrants that have come here legally and have become legal American citizens and who have assimilated themselves into American society by learning the language and adopting our noble heritage and place in the world community.

Ah! Never fear....we have a new ‘border czar’....and according to the article, not one new thing for border control....we are sending agents to the border to protect Mexico from our guns getting in, because Mexico won’t put any guards to keep them out. Mexico had a ‘border czar’, but he was being paid by the cartels.

Don’t we all already know that letting unskilled criminals into our country is a bad idea? Even those on the left know this, and the guilt of that knowledge makes them crazy, which is why, they are crazy. The truth does not go away.

Ok, now go back and produce the statistics for ILLEGAL immigrants alone. We’re not interested in the urse from Manila or the IT professional from Bombay, and those people are mixed into your numbers.

Only business interests and Democrats who see illegals as new voters benefit from this invasion.

I'd be willing to pay higher prices, if gulp, I didn't have to support illegals via government transfers and higher taxes. Allowing illegals to pick food, work in restaurants, etc, is providing a subsidy to consumers in some respects that is paid for by higher taxes distributed by all the mentioned government payouts.

The cost that our whole government has become bi-lingual - in a uni-lingual nation should be factored in.

Who passed this law?
