Sunlight is for suckers. The New York Post reported on Tuesday that the White House will not release the $328,835 snapshots taken of the president's Boeing VC-25A that buzzed lower Manhattan. The entire world has seen news and amateur photos and videos of the incident, but if President Obama has his way, taxpayers won't be able to see the flyover photos they paid for with their own money.
This will make for an interesting response to my Freedom of Information Act requests. After the bizarre mission caused distress and panic among countless New York City residents who were intentionally left in the dark about the photo-op stunt, I filed public records requests with the Office of the Secretary of Defense and the Joint Staff FOIA Requester Service Center.
The first one requests any and all communication including e-mail and other public records and including any and all correspondence between the White House Military Office, Department of Defense and other agencies related to the planned federal aerial mission over New York City on April 27, 2009. Specifically, I requested all public records related to and including the flight manifests and related to the origin of the request for the mission. The second filing requests any and all photos taken during the planned federal aerial mission approved by the White House Military Office.

Barack doesn’t want those joy-riding pictures his administration took, probably because he was on the plane.
Prolly pics of Jay-Z and Kanye at the controls, spraying Crystal all over the MFDs of the cockpit.
Hope.
Change.
Bitches and Ho’s.
Prediction 1: The FOIA response will say,
“The public is not interested in this.”
Then, the submitter will be required to pay a large sum
to the Treasury dept. (and undergo audits every three months).
Exactly. It’s all so very selective. If it had been Bush, God forbid, 0 would have sent a glossy copy to each and every citizen (postage picked up by the taxpayers of course).
I think zero was in washington with the leade of egypt..at the time.. It was a pay back for donors, what a joy ride, every thing is planned in this white house. nothing is done per change
The photos can be used to greater effect at the 2012 Democratic National Convention if no one has seen them before then.
The Scare Force One photos are nothing.
Why do I have to wait until October to find out where all the Porkulus money is going?
“Specifically, I requested all public records related to ... the origin of the request for the mission.” Ping.
Selective transparency?
At least the fish has brains.
This flight was to get publicity photos?...why am I not understanding the un-public nature of these publicity photos.
The administration is too busy meeting the requests of the ACLU for pix of interrogation techniques, which will compromise the safety of our troops overseas, to answer an FOIA request for the flyover pix.
If it had been W, Zero would have ordered those photo stamps (usually commemorating babies and weddings as I have ordered them) and then plaster them on every government mailing until the next election.
The ‘Bama gets a ‘pass’ from the media on duplicitous and deceitful behavior for which a Republican would get a nonstop, 24/7 public crucifixion. Eventually the American people are going to notice.
Just as Orwell’s Ministry of Truth dealt with lies, the Ministry of Plenty (starvation) and Ministry of Love (torture), Democrats impudently forecast their functions, e.g. the Clintons earnestly promised the “most ethical administration ever” and Obama & Co. will continue to be as “transparent” as mud.
Wishful thinking, but......nope. The public has been dumbed down and propagandized to the point of no return.
As with the birth certificate, it’s hard to avoid the conclusion that they are refusing to release photos either because that “photo-op” story was a lie, or because there’s something embarrassing about the photos.
The two likeliest explanations that I’ve seen so far are:
a) That it was some kind of junket for Obama’s family or friends.
b) That it was set up as the epilogue for the movie being made about the Tuskegee Airmen.
I think the latter is likelier. The fighter escort appears to have a red tail, and I have seen a blog where someone belonging to a Newark blog also reported seeing the fighter up close with a red tail, as AF-1 and its escort flew over the city and circled three times near his window.
They can’t release photos because the photos in question were actually movie takes intended to associate Obama’s first black presidency with those heroes (several of whom were invited to the Inaugural), and it would be highly embarrassing if all that came out.
Michelle Malkin sums it up very well. I hope she doesn’t give up and keeps on applying pressure about the flyover pics and records of that “mission”. I’m getting damn sick of the lies being told by Obama and his cohorts in crime.
I believe this incident was a projection of power. It was physical theater to back up the administrations threats to Wall Street. Goldman-Sachs was buzzed, twice.
Exactly.
