Ron Paul's Influence Grows
The New American ^ | 2009-05-06 | Charles Scaliger

lthough he officially abandoned his presidential bid last summer, Texas Congressman Ron Paul’s star continues to brighten. Once shunned by the mainstream media and marginalized by the national leadership of the Republican Party, the modest pediatrician-turned-congressman has become something of an éminence grise these days, feted and fawned over by the likes of Fox News, which once dismissed him as a quack.

The reason? Dr. Paul’s unexpected fundraising prowess during his presidential campaign turned more than a few heads, and the bestseller status of his book The Revolution: A Manifesto attracted further attention. But besides the growth of his Campaign for Liberty and the swelling ranks of followers, recent events have proven Congressman Paul right time and time again. What once seemed to those with no understanding of so-called “Austrian economics” as dour paranoia has turned out to be spot on, as the Mother of All Speculative Bubbles has imploded.

You need someone with charisma

Yeah... that must be why the GOP keeps winning... If people would pry themselves away from American Idol or Entertainment Tonight for a few minutes maybe they can make a choice that's good for the country instead of good for themselves.

Who would send those marines today?

Most of the places the Marines would be sent these days are not places we should be! We need to stop being the worlds police force and take care of our own house FIRST!

I love Jefferson and I am an avid reader of his material. Ron Paul is nothing compared to him...NOTHING!

If the founders, including Jefferson came back today, who do you think they would see as more of an ally that bases their actions on the Constitution... Ron Paul, or any of the other idiots currently on the scene... The choice would be pretty clear.

Like his stances or not... He is the closest you will get to a politician actually following Constitutional principles.

You mean the the coast of somalia?

“We need to stop being the worlds police force and take care of our own house FIRST!”

Ah yes...like Ron Paul eh?

It’s up the people of Iraq to do something about saddam...

It’s up the people of afganistan to do something about the taliban....

It’s up the people of germany to do something about hitler......

It’s up the people of Japan to get rid of the emperor....

Oh...the logic kinda falls apart there...

They are completely clueless...

The reason we are in our current position, Constitutionally, is that the government injects its self in matters that do not have any direct national security concerns to the United States. and as usual people such as yourself start throwing out the 'ole straw dogs...

...Each one of the conflicts you just listed have or had a direct impact on our national security, I could go on to list many of the "missions" the military have been given that have no such vital impact and should be dealt with by other countries, but I'm sure you would try to find some remote justification... just as the government usually does.

Making stupid ASSumptions, such as that I support Ron Pauls views on Iraq is what will make you look like an idiot. Especially since I have already pointed out in my last post that the Iraq war was in our national interest.

As with any politician, someone can disagree with some of their stances but still support the candidate, no one has the perfect magic bullet. But if you want to get back to a Constitutional Government as a lot of you purport, then you must know and understand that the Founders were non-interventionist... period. There is no gray area, attack if only if you are attacked.

So, please save the petty attempts at self-aggrandizing to yourself.
