Try to find Chamberlin’s speech where he announced war with Germany.
In it he acknowledges that the only alternative left is to stop Hitler by force. But he also opines about how he couldn't imagine having done anything more or different that would have been more successful in the events leading up to war.
The true believer lives ever on.
