Apparently the guy’s campaign rhetoric was actually real. So I don’t think he will do that since he said he wouldn’t. He is a man of his word, unfortunately.

I recall an interview of Dick Cheney around 1995 or early 1996 when he had decided NOT to run for President in 1996. He cited family as the reason. He didn't want to put them through the ringer that comes with running for Prez.
I was SORELY disappointed he didn't run then.
