Ventura On ... Just About Everything
Twin Cities Pioneer Press ^ | 5/12/09 | Jason Hoppin

Posted on 05/12/2009 1:16:04 PM PDT by steve-b

Ex-Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura appeared on CNN's Larry King Live last night for a thoroughly entertaining 20-minute interview. In it, Ventura said he'd been waterboarded, called for the legalization of drugs, threw his hat in the ring for ambassador to Cuba and called Norm Coleman a hypocrite.

Some excerpts:

Ventura said he was waterboarded as part of his Navy SEAL training. He was (typically) not shy about his views. "It's a good thing I'm not president," Ventura said. "I would prosecute every person involved in that torture. I would prosecute the people that did it. I would prosecute the people that ordered it. Because torture is against the law."

He went on: "I'll put it to you this way: you give me a waterboard, Dick Cheney and one hour, and I'll have him confess to the Sharon Tate murders."

On the ongoing Minnesota Senate race, Ventura said Coleman is a hypocrite for calling for Franken to step aside just after Election Day and then not doing the same once the recount was complete. He also said the state Supreme Court should have the final say in the matter.

"Whenever they rule on it, that should be the end of it. The feds should have nothing to do with it. ... That's a state('s) rights issue. They determine who they want to send to Washington," Ventura said.

Ventura said the ongoing violence in Mexico, which he now calls home, can be solved by legalizing drugs. "The cartels are out of business, just like Al Capone and the legalization of alcohol," he said.

He also said he didn't think he would ever run for office again.

"I'm enjoying myself attempting to become the best surfer I can be down in ... Baja."

So since Randy Savage, I mean Jesse the Bod was waterboarded at a yout, what did he confess to?

I would venture to guess that his waterboard statements were as loose as his “hunting man” statements about his time in the SEALS...Jesse has been and always will be a crackpot egomaniac.

Why? It's a federal office.

Ventura said the ongoing violence in Mexico, which he now calls home...

So has he renounced his citizenship yet? Why is he still listened to in his criticisms of the US?
