No Palestinian (Christian or Muslim) has a recognized status by Israel. Hamas is, in fact, the enemy but without recognition there is no place for Palestinians to go. As we all know, Israel did not exist prior to 1948 and wouldn't exist today without US support.

At present, there is no place for the Palestinians who lived in relative harmony with Jews in their homeland prior to WWII -- and yet, you say there is no place for them now -- except in Israel. ???

Are you joking? Let me cite some examples of "relative harmony":

In 1921, Haj Amin el-Husseini first began to organize fedayeen ("one who sacrifices himself") to terrorize Jews. Haj Amin hoped to duplicate the success of Kemal Atatürk in Turkey by driving the Jews out of Palestine just as Kemal had driven the invading Greeks from his country.31 Arab radicals were able to gain influence because the British Administration was unwilling to take effective action against them until they finally revolted against British rule.

...

In 1929, Arab provocateurs succeeded in convincing the masses that the Jews had designs on the Temple Mount (a tactic that would be repeated on numerous occasions, the most recent of which was in 2000 after the visit of Ariel Sharon). A Jewish religious observance at the Western Wall, which forms a part of the Temple Mount, served as a catalyst for rioting by Arabs against Jews that spilled out of Jerusalem into other villages and towns, including Safed and Hebron.

I can certainly provide better, more detailed examples if you really wish to espouse such nonsense. I can also dispell the myth of "Palestinians" as a distinct culture. The Palestinians can go to Jordan, which was where the original Palestinian state was to be...Arafat was in fact offered to be prime minister of Jordan...but he rejected it...opting for violence...because he wanted war with Israel...this was while Jordan occupied the West Bank. I don't think squatters should be given a state and there violent war on Israel is the greatest forfeit to any such claim or entitlement to such...and let's be clear: WITHOUT THE U.N.'S SUPPORT...THERE WOULDN'T BE A HAMAS...ISRAEL WOULD HAVE WIPED THE OFF THE MAP BY NOW!

Relative harmony? As long as Jews were good dhimmi, they suffered the equivelnt of Jim Crow laws and high taxes, punctuated by occasional pogroms. When these or migrating JEws were deemed uppity, there was mass slaughter and expulsions.

You should know that there are over a million Arab citizens of Israel.
