So the large majority of Republicans are defined as "crazies" and the Republican SDs(Social Democrats) are the sane mainstream guys.

Crist IMHO is responsible for obama's election. True I would rather have had a Sarah than McCain, at least Romney had a shot until Crist/Martinez/Huckster torpedoed him.

Not much. Remember Mitt proposed during the Michigan primaries a 20 billion dollar bailout of the Big Three. Mitt could of blocked Romneycare, instead he got out in front. Boston had the 3 into 15 billion dollar Big Dig, the mostly costliest construction in American’s history and rife with corruption, Mitt did nothing. Mitt ‘saving’ the Utah Special Olympics was based on him getting a half billion dollars to his Utah hack real estate ‘investors’. Another bailout.
Mitt is a cozy, big business, big finance( notice he has said nada, zip, nothing about the trillions of dollars bailout to his close financial friends and institutions. Remember, Mitt didn’t get rich by pounding nails, it was finance and other peoples money).
Obama is a smoother political operator, by far than Mitt’s accidental, one time purchase of a governorship of a failed, dysfunctional state and state GOP.
Obama understands the zeitgeist( feelings ) of our times. Mitt due to his uber upper-class, elite education and Mormon separatism is permanently out of snyc, stiff, formal, wooden, clueless.
Mitt positively refused to have anything to do with appointing judges while Governor. Whether political cowardliness, or stupidity, I don’t know. We do know that he was, at a time for gov healthcare, previous pro abortion donations, and pro gay, and being from Massachusetts and basically a Mormon version of east coast, elite Republicans. He has SAID he has changed, and thus open to changing again.
