TALLAHASSEE -- State Sen. Jim King, a Jacksonville Republican and 22-year veteran of the Legislature, has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, the lawmaker's longtime spokeswoman said Saturday.

“During a recent routine post-legislative session checkup, Senator Jim King was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. While Senator King plans to seek additional medical counsel and aggressive treatment, he is aware that this particular type of cancer is difficult to treat and manage, and that the outcomes are, at best, guarded," said Sarah Bascom, a political consultant and longtime spokeswoman for King, in a statement.

He thinks women are property that should be thrown into the grave at will. I don’t know if he thinks dogs are better than women, or if he thinks they should be buried alive with their masters.

Eww. I bet the dancer didn’t forget. Though I’m sure she’d like to.

Jim King is in the Hospice Hall of Fame. There’s actually a Hall of Fame.

Wow. That does look promising.

I read something recently about a vaccine for lung cancer. Lucanix is in Phase III clinical trials. It’s reported to show promise in extending survival rates up to four times among Stage II and above lung cancer patients.

Probably because he is from the Jacksonville area and because the Mayo clinic is in Jacksonville and because it is a great hospital. Call me crazy.

Do you think he’ll be taking advantage of the “death with dignity” legislation that he proudly calls his legacy? Or do you think that was just for the little people?

Perhaps words from the Bible would be of comfort now:

God is not mocked. What a man sows, he reaps.

You know, Terry Schiavo did not die a death with any dignity. She was starved and dehydrated, something we did not even do to terrorists.

It was real torture and lasted for thirteen days.

There was no mercy for her.

That those who were complicit in her torturous death should expect mercy—well, that’s above my paygrade.

And he does have other hospitals to choose from. I’m sure he could find one of the doctors who sided with him against Terri Schiavo, if that’s really what he wanted.

Funny how the Mayo Clinic was a bunch of quacks when they sided with Terri Schiavo, but now that it’s Jim King’s life we’re talking about, it’s a great hospital.

Who said that the Mayo clinic was full of quacks? You are full of it.

Terri wasn’t allowed to be treated with the dignity she deserved, but she never lost her own dignity. They tried to take her dignity, but it was never theirs to take.

The enemies of Terri Schiavo who posted here, and all over the Internet. Everyone who spoke up on behalf of Terri Schiavo was verbally attacked for it. It would be difficult to avoid knowing that.

I cannot cite the exact thread or posts, but I do recall quite well the snarky comments about Mayo when they sided with Terri's right to live because she was not ‘a vegetable’. I have a feeling you've tossed a rock into the 'Terri is a vegg' crowd and the one you hit has yelped. Do you still have your standard issue ignore button Jim issues when you join FR? ;^)

Then it should be very easy for you to find one contemporaneous account of someone calling the Mayo clinic “quacks” or something similar. Good luck.

Yeah, I guess I need to break out the ignore button for this troll. I was going to honor his request to do the googling for him, but when I started, there were literally thousands of sites. Only a total moron could find a way to remain ignorant of the foul things the death mongers said about Terri’s allies.

Arthur Caplan and Ronald Cranford were frequently quoted as “experts” on Terri Schiavo, brain injuries and ethics, despite the facts. They both had vile insults for Dr. Wm. Cheshire from Mayo. The New York Slimes had a few goofy articles portraying the Mayo Clinic as a bunch of quacks. As evidence, they accused Dr. Cheshire of being a Christian (as though that was proof of quackery) and named the church he attended. They even used his standing at the Mayo Clinic as proof of his quackery. Democratic Underground was in full agreement with all of Terri’s enemies, including the trolls who wandered our own hallowed halls.

I have prayed that he will see the light now.

Maybe he will come to his senses and publicly admit that he was wrong.
