Secession isn't just for Texas any more. People are waking up and don't want to die with the 'lemmings'!

I love it. All the productive areas secede, leaving the drones to fend for themselves. Straight out of Ayn Rand.

Yeah, that makes me laugh whenever I hear Blue Staters talking about “secession” especially after the 2004 election.

The more productive people, counties and towns would then pull out, either legally or logistically.

Makes more sense for New York City to become the 51st State, though that might result in two more Democratic senators. (Or not).

PBS station WNET-13 in New York used to have a program called “The 51st State” in the early seventies when there was agitation for New York City to break away from the rest of the state.

Nothing would be more beneficial for the health of the economy of New York State than to lose eight million parasites.

I got a feelin’ that the residual New York State might become to New York City like New Hampshire is to Massachusetts. A refuge.

Naming rights might be an issue. Should New York be the name of the Five (less one?) boroughs or the broken off larger portion. I favor a new start. Why not name the new State something like New America?

In today's climate the name ‘New America’ would certainly be called racist. Most likely they would pick a name like: 'Obamaland', 'Allahland', or my favorite 'New Sheepleton'.

Funny, I thought that rural, reddish-purple upstate New York would have wanted to break away from the NYC cesspool before bluish-purple Long Island.

Which is it? Long Island or Staten Island?

As I understand it it’s both, they would united and become seperate from NYC.
