Reminds me of a college Intro to Jazz class I took. The teacher(a somewhat famous Jazz pianist) would hand grade your final exam, an essay test about the Jazz greats. You could write the most beautiful insightful essay but if you put down that the artist died of a drug overdose instead of “artistic frustration”, you couldn't pull more than a B grade. My buddies and I tested our theory by submitting the EXACT same essays except for the “artistic frustration” words and sure enough one got an A the other a B grade.
A bad back doesn’t seem worth dying over. Especially someone who obviously considered themselves an “activist”. Why give up? Did he advocate suicide for people with poor health or chronic injuries? It is sad.
