Calling it a "stupid, silly, one-line aside," he touched on the attention it received. "I think it's an incorrect statement to say I was, in any way, trying to disparage legitimate protests," said Cooper. "I don't think it's my job to disparage, or encourage, which oddly other networks seemed to be doing. Protest is the great right of all Americans, and it's not my job in any way to make fun of people or disparage what they're doing."
Cooper said he regretted making the comment. "If people took offense to that and felt that I was disparaging their legitimate right to protest, and what they were doing, then that is something I truly regret, because I don't believe in doing that," he said. "Having this discussion just takes away from the real story."

He should know, his BF does it to him regularly.
I think he was just day-dreaming.
It wasn't a one line aside .. it was a one liner. A joke to make fun of tea parties and to joke about it.
Old Sarge says Anderson Cooper is “Stupid, Silly”...
Of course he can express regrets now. It’s already out there, so anything he says now is meaningless.
They’re all in the bag for Obammie the Commie.
It was intentional, obscene, and demeaning. Why is he still on TV? Although since nobody watches him it kinda makes up that last one.
Which, of course, is the whole idea...
“I don’t think it’s my job to disparage, or encourage, which oddly other networks seemed to be doing.”
What the hell does that mean?
Teabag, indeed. Homo teabagging, oh how so insightful.
His “oddly” comment above was strange as well.
He is apologizing but taking a swipe at Fox News at the same time.
How about it Anderson? Did you have a little fun with the "guys" in college?
FUAC!
He was fantasizing.
> He should know, his BF does it to him regularly.
Is that why his show is called AC 360?
Great minds think alike: See my post 11.
It’s not like he needs the money, he’s heir to a fortune.
Exactly.
Cram your “teabagging” apology, Anderson.
Just like Don Imus.
There's no difference between the behavior of the two of them.
and wombtotomb says Anderson got taken to the woodshed. While all those freaks at CNN/MSNBC/et al. feel that way, they underestimated the sheer number of folks they offended, and they are not supposed to speak out loud off THEIR teleprompters for this very reason. I guess thats why they never make fun of that one for using it.
