Finally someone they are ready to take on, Mom’s with kids. Incidentally, this small death traps, who will the class actions law suite be brought against once the casualties start coming in from the roadways. Surely someone will be responsible for the slaughter.

Dreams are being fulfilled right now, here is the car park in the communist paradise of cuba. Noticed that cars that are extinct survive on despite the awesome alternatives provided by the government. You probably see horsey in the background.

So how long will the SUV need to be maintend can yours last 10 yrs with $ 4.50 gallons per gallon price, brought on by the taxes.

It`s counter intuitive.

CAFE standards DO NOT decrease demand. If a car gets more MPG people l drive more!

“[s]ince 1970, the United States has made cars almost 50% more efficient; in that period of time, the average number of miles a person drives has doubled.” Kimberley A. Strassel, “Conservation Wastes Energy,” The Wall Street Journal , May 17, 2001

You know, I was cooking and heard ABC news in the background saying that the auto makers didn’t balk at this.

....and I’m thinking. THAT’S because the cars they make now will be outlawed and they get to sell everyone a governmentally-acceptable automobile.

Never again will I buy GM. I’m funding everyone’s pension fund but my own: UAW, CTA, Social Security (which will be broke by the time I retire), Public employees in general, etc., etc, etc.

It will only take a few quarters for the US auto industry to turn from critical condition to dead. When that happens it will be, of course, Bush’s fault.

This country is based on people mobility and they want to show us into railroad carts.

The Obama administration says the changes mean the average vehicle would cost about $1,300 more, but gas savings will make up the difference in about three years.

So we'll be paying more and getting less. I wonder how many idiots are having voter's remorse.

The Federal government does not care one bit how much this will increase costs for the average American. The people who want these standards are the environmental lobbies, which support the Democrats big time. This is one more example of how politicians put their political interests above the interest of the people of this country.

And what are the chances they’re lying?

I’ve got no use for Obama but you have to give him credit. He’s got the balls to do what Bush never did. He’s ramming his agenda through and putting it all out there. Bush had both houses and $h!t with it.

” This country is based on people mobility and they want to show us into railroad carts.”

The messiah wants less mobility, meaning less freedom?

I can accept that point. Take away freedoms, make the masses more dependent on government.

If people can`t move out of high tax States or be mobile enough to work further from home then they become trapped and look to big brother to help them.

Hey, don’t complain! At least Biden promised they’ll be high speed railroad carts!

And if we need money or food, we could always go to “camps” and work for our food...
