Radar Online ^ | 05/20/09

Posted on 05/20/2009 8:39:37 PM PDT by BunnySlippers

A barge crew discovered the remains of what is described as a “smallish female” wearing underwear in the Des Plaines River. A source told the Joliet (Ill.) Herald News that DNA testing will likely be needed to identify the body. Relatives of Stacy Peterson, who lived in nearby Bolingbrook, Ill., have been contacted by state police regarding the discovery. Stacy was the fourth wife of ex-Bolingbrook cop, Drew Peterson, who remains in custody on charges that he killed his third wife Kathleen Savio. Stacy has been missing since Oct. 28, 2007.

The people who found it supposedly found a blue barrel nearby.

Years ago I knew a very unscrupleous guy that owned a large grease rendering plant in Los Angeles and he skimmes off the lanolin and sold it for cash but everything he threw in the vats came out either grease or ewar=ter. The only thing that survived was pig hair.

He was so crooked that his fleet of semis were all made from glider kits with engines, trans, and running gear was all from stolen rigs.

It wouldn’t suprise one bit if Hoffa wasn’t run through his plant!

If true, that sounds like this may be her.

Everybody knows that Hoffa is in the footings of Giants Stadium.

And, of course, I have no idea as to the veracity of the reports I’m hearing ...

It’s anyone’s guess, but I think it might be her. IIRC Lisa Stebic was on the tall side, and these bones are described as those of a petite woman.

An ABC affiliate claims to have confirmed the blue barrel story, and actually photographed the barrel.

Yet this story says there was no barrel:

At the same time supposedly news reports showed a deteriorated barrel.

Peterson or Stebic Link
to Body?

Updated: Thursday, 21 May 2009, 7:17 AM CDT
Published : Thursday, 21 May 2009, 6:21 AM CDT

Crest Hill - An autopsy is scheduled on badly decomposed human remains found in suburban Chicago on the banks of the Des Plaines River. Illinois State Police Sgt. Tom Burek says the Will County coroner will perform the autopsy this morning.

The discovery yesterday prompted speculation the remains were related to a couple of long-running, high-profile missing persons cases in Will County. Burek declined to say if the body was male or female.

He says he won’t speculate about whether the remains belong to Stacy Peterson or Lisa Stebic, two missing Will County women whose cases have garnered national attention.

Peterson’s husband, Drew Peterson, is scheduled to appear in court today on charges he killed his third wife, Kathleen Savio. Stebic was last seen in Plainfield in April 2007.

I googled their heights, and both women are listed as 5’ 2”, including at the websites set up to help find them. Of course, the average American woman per the CDC is a little under 5’ 4” , so the cadaver not only could be either of them, it could be any one of thousands of missing girls/women. Personally, I believe Stacy Peterson’s body was dismembered and then the parts destroyed as completely as possible...No way would Drew Peterson leave an intact cadaver to be found. I’d be delighted to be proven wrong, though!

Thanks for checking this out further.

I am not clear on whether the remains found were an intact skeleton or just parts of one.

Com’on a body does not survive 2 and half years in water. There would be only bones left and they would be scattered unless there was no current. This is the corpse of a more recent tragedy.

Stacy was sealed in the blue barrel. A blue barrel was found nearby that had burst open.

It’s possible but I’m realistic.
