Ida: Separating the Science from the Media Campaign

by Brian Thomas, M.S., and Frank Sherwin, M.A.*

Ida is the nickname of the stunningly well-preserved fossil that is currently being hailed as "our connection with the rest of all the mammals."[1] A massive publicity campaign, including books, videos, a website, and public unveilings, coincided with the publication of a scientific study conducted on the fossil.[2] But published statements from many scientists, both evolutionist and creationist alike, indicate that Ida's accolades as the long-sought-after "missing link" are thoroughly undeserved...

A different “missing link” shows up every few years, they milk it for all it’s worth, and then it waddles off the runway into oblivion. In the meantime, they can write creative fantasies for the Discovery channel, and publish another round of nonsense for the rubes and the atheists.

scientists may scoff, but the history channel is positively horny about the fake- they’re planning on showing it off as though it were the greatest thing since sliced bread, and will undoubtedly be crowing about it for a long time- apparently they could care less about their reputation as a credible source of information

You hit the nail right on the head. The Evos seem intent on destroying their credibility...either that, or they are completely blinded by the Evo-religion. Take your pick.

That’s what is so perplexing to me. Either they all have a ton of $$$ on the line and are all frantically trying to get it back, or they could care less about their heretofore protected reputations (not realizing that it will hurt their bottom line in the future), or they are COMPLETELY blinded by their Evo-religion. I suppose any combination thereof is also possible.

The "History" channel?

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!

The only reason I watch those losers is to make a list of all the half-truths, lies and moonbat speculation that they bombard us with instead of actual history.
Unfortunately, I get so angry watching the crap I usually just give up in disgust with the faint hope that nobody is stupid enough to buy those computer graphics cartoon "opinions."

Ditto, National Geographic, the "Science" channel, the "Learning" channel, etc.

Maybe they just ought to change their name to Moonbat Propaganda Channel1, 2, 3, etc...

Yep, and all day yesterday Google had ‘the missing link’ incorporated into their logo.

The athiests and religion haters are having multiple orgasms over this one.

[[Maybe they just ought to change their name to Moonbat Propaganda Channel1,]]

Agreed- they should also put a disclaimer up before each and every show they air stating “We are a bunch of dolts and don’t know squat about science- viewer discretion is advised”

All profit all the time. This new bony thing will bring them a few million dollars before it’s tossed on the trash heap of history. Oh, it had been tossed on the trash heap of history already, and they picked it up? Where do I sign up to make some money off this thing?

Remember "African Mother?"
Nailed down forever by DNA? The issue was settled then and there, forever.

Until it was proven wrong.
These incompetents are neither scientists nor honest. But failure doesn't seem to disuade them.
