WASHINGTON – A bill approved by the House of Representatives and referred to the Senate would prohibit federal employees of executive branch from being compelled to release any document unless a court makes a specified determination by a preponderance of evidence – legislation at least one group suspects is designed to protect Barack Obama's elusive birth certificate from release.

The legislation, HR 985, resides in the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Sovereignty Alliance has issued a "red alert" about the bill it calls "stealth legislation ... to protect Obama from providing his birth certificate."

I am a Birther...tried and true. Barry is not a U.S. citizen. He (His mom) obtained a Hawaiian Birth Cert based on current laws back in the 60's where citizens of Hawaii could obtain BC's for children born outside of the islands as long as they (One of the parents) was a resident of Hawaii within a certain time frame regardless of where that child was born. Daddy was Kenyan, right?

This POS is not U.S. born. His mother obtained a BC on those laws and he has been waving that "Short Form" around all of his life...it only shows a Hawaiian BC, not where he was originally born, his religion, his hospital of birth, the birthing doctor...none of that. If I show you something you accept as real up front, you never ask about Hawaiian law from the 60's....and George Soros knew that.

It is simply...Barry's fake BC "...has always gotten me through. Got me a Passport and more"...no one bothered to check or get into Hawaiian law from when this Hitler-like garbage was born. Well, basically, the Constitution is the trump legally and all legislation has to be Constitutional or it will be open to legal challenge. Before the congress passes this, it should be sent around to the lawyers for various agencies and comment sought— I used to have a job where I looked at proposed statutes to see if they conflicted with statutes already on the books, caused unforeseen problems by clumsy drafting,etc or were in conflict with the Constitution, —anyway, you can’t change the Constitution of the US by federal statute, it will never work. You’d have to do it by an Amendment. This thing will never pass muster.

This is friggin’ ridiculous. Do I believe he was actually born in Kenya or whatever? Not necessarily. Do I believe he has something to hide? That seems manifest at this point. I still kind of like the theory that his birth certificate says “Father unknown.”

In any matter arising under Federal law, a Federal entity may not compel a covered person to provide testimony or produce any document related to information obtained or created by such covered person as part of engaging in journalism, unless a court determines by a preponderance of the evidence, after providing notice and an opportunity to be heard to such covered person--

Maybe I'm missing something, but in reading the bill itself, I do not see where this bill protects Obama from releasing his birth certificate. It's aimed at the news media and seems to be about when to, or when not to, make them reveal their sources.

I could be wrong. "Legalese" is a little over my head at times. I'm not a lawyer and I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night. LOL!
