North Korea's nuclear test is a "matter of grave concern," President Obama said Monday, as officials in Washington accused the rogue regime of blatantly defying the international community.

The communist country said it had carried out a powerful underground nuclear test, much larger than one conducted in 2006. The regime also test-fired three short-range, ground-to-air missiles later Monday from the same northeastern site where it launched a rocket last month, the Yonhap news agency reported, citing unnamed sources.

The twin moves were roundly condemned in Washington.

"These actions, while not a surprise given its statements and actions to date, are a matter of grave concern to all nations," Obama said in a written statement, calling them an apparent violation of international law. "North Korea's attempts to develop nuclear weapons, as well as its ballistic missile program, constitute a threat to international peace and security."

“And if you don’t stop we’re going to say even MEANER things about you....” Obama

Don’t look now. but the zero is going to issue a STRONGLY WORDED LETTER to the UN asking for (gasp) a resolution condemning North Korea.

Well! Between Obama’s nasty note and the U.N. strongly worded “naughty naughty”, NKorea must be ready to capituate.

I’m sure the UN will really scare them. It worked so well with Saddam that after only 17 resolutions... Maybe I need a different example.

A means to justify a nuclear Japan???

If so, one would think China would’ve killed the N Korea nuke program. Why would China want a nuclear Japan?

North Korea is a puppet of the PRC. The PRC are rattling cages because they see there investment on Treasuries down 30%. They want guarantees on there long bonds and see us monetizing our debt (printing). Follow the money!

What is probable is that the U.S. loses it’s AAA status, followed by inflation, followed by lose of reserve currency status, followed by hyperinflation, followed by massive civil unrest.

I expect the U.S. will default to China but likely not for 3-4 years. When that happens, expect North Korea to march on the South. North Korea will become the major flashpoint of a coming WWIII, mark my words. And when the North starts it’s nasty march South I advise you all to have a place to go 50 miles from any major metro. This regional war will become global. You will have time to prepare at that point but not much.

I agree with your assessment of the situation. The suicide of the SK leader also ties into this somehow.

At least the SK leader had the balls to execute himself for looting his people in SIV scams. I wish some people at the large investment banks would take notice and follow that example :)
