Sotomayor Video: Judges Make Policy, Latinas Better Than Whites
NewsMax ^ | May 26, 2009 | By: Kenneth D. Williams

Judge Sonia Sotomayor, President Obama's pick to become the newest Supreme Court justice, is on the record with some controversial remarks about 'diversity,' 'judicial activism' and female judges vs. male judges.

For example, the New York Times reported that in 2001, at the annual Judge Mario G. Olmos Law and Cultural Diversity Lecture, Sotomayor had this to say:

“I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn’t lived that life.”

“Whether born from experience or inherent physiological or cultural differences,” she said later, regarding non-white, female judges, “our gender and national origins may and will make a difference in our judging.”

Also, there is a 2005 video of Sotomayor, speaking with potential law clerks, saying that a “court of appeals is where policy is made.” She added: “And I know — I know this is on tape, and I should never say that because we don’t make law. I know. O.K. I know. I’m not promoting it. I’m not advocating it ...”

Her dissent in Hayden v Pataki.....

“[t]he duty of a judge is to follow the law, not to question its plain terms. I do not believe that Congress wishes us to disregard the plain language of any statute or to invent exceptions to the statutes it has created. . . . But even if Congress had doubts about the wisdom of subjecting felony disenfranchisement laws to the results test of § 2, I trust that Congress would prefer to make any needed changes itself, rather than have courts do so for it.”

This is her contradiction in statements that should be looked at closely. This case was about the VRA being applied to convicted felons.

“I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn’t lived that life.”

Yeah, white "males" don't have any experiences that are worth squat, lady. Our lives are just worthless wastes of time compared to yours.

/Do I really need a sarc tag? :^)

This is one arrogant, stupid female who, like most libs of “importance,” vastly overestimate their knowledge and wisdom.

Most of us here expected this on the morning of Nov 5, 2008. That was the worst day of my life.

I knew at that time we were in for a horrific experience. I blasted the friends and family members who voted for Obama. I called them total idiots and most of them if they were honest would probably admit they were very stupid and foolish.

This decision on Sotomayor should come as no surprise to anyone. Obama is going to appoint the worst of the worst in just about every situation. We will get NO quality people anywhere, just left wing Ideologues. That's what this guy is all about.

Everything I've read about this woman indicates that she's a third rate intellect. She is an affirmative action baby from the word go. She's just like the clown that appointed her. People like Sotomayer (and Obama and all the rest) are the types of people who turn you into a third world country. I cannot say enough bad things about this woman. But ironically she might be the best we can get from Obama. Everything I've read suggests she's not that bright. So if we are going to have someone of the far left as an appointment I'd rather have a third rate person like Sotomayer than a bright person.

Let's have a little Eric Hoffer on the subject, shall we?

"I doubt if the oppressed ever fight for freedom. They fight for pride and for power -- power to oppress others. The oppressed want above all to imitate their oppressors; they want to retaliate."

"Ours is a golden age of minorities. At no time in the past have dissident minorities felt so much at home and had so much room to throw their weight around. They speak and act as if they were “the people,” and what they abominate most is the dissent of the majority".

"Those who see their lives as spoiled and wasted crave equality and fraternity more than they do freedom. If they clamor for freedom, it is but freedom to establish equality and uniformity. The passion for equality is partly a passion for anonymity: to be one thread of the many which make up a tunic; one thread not distinguishable from the others. No one can then point us out, measure us against others and expose our inferiority".

"They who clamor loudest for freedom are often the ones least likely to be happy in a free society. The frustrated, oppressed by their shortcomings, blame their failure on existing restraints. Actually, their innermost desire is for an end to the "free for all." They want to eliminate free competition and the ruthless testing to which the individual is continually subjected in a free society".

"The sick in soul insist that it is humanity that is sick, and they are the surgeons to operate on it. They want to turn the world into a sickroom. And once they get humanity strapped to the operating table, they operate on it--with an ax".

Richness of experience counts an immeasurable amount to the elites in DC and the East Coast. Except when it is a black Woman appointed as the Secretary of State. Then you can pen cartoons depicting her as Aunt Jemima.

Racists, one and all.....

“I hope we bash her unmercifully.”

Unfortunately, one of the things going against us is that even if we could prove this woman was a drug dealer, terrorist, racist, and a pedophile who had never heard of the supreme court, any opposition would be seen as anti-hispanic racism. Another is that most people have come to accept and even expect “identity based” legal decisions. In other words, NO, ONE, CARES. The tipping point was reached years ago, the majority of voters these days are ignorant parasites, leftist dupes, anti-white racists, enviro-freaks, homo-activists, neo-hippys and a variety of other stuck on stupid types. THE COUNTRY VOTED FOR THIS and things wont change until people get disgusted with it.

Amen, brother-you said it all.

Hell, if it was a quota pick, I’d just as soon have it be J Lo or Eva Longoria—probably no less qualified, and at least they’d be looking good up there.......

My favorite line from today's festivities is when introducing Sotomayor, Obama said "It doesn't matter what you look like... you can achieve your dreams."

This is Sotomayor's Sista SOULJAH moment
“I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn’t lived that life.”

Sister Souljah ( Sister Souljah moment )
("If there are any good White people, I haven't met them") while giving a speech to Jesse Jackson Sr.'s Rainbow Coalition )

( Souljah became infamous for her statements about the 1992 Los Angeles riots.
In an interview conducted May 13, 1992, she was quoted in the Washington Post as saying:

“ If Black people kill Black people every day, why not have a week and kill White people? ” ) ....

I guess that my question is that white males do not lead rich full lives of their own, and therefore have no experiences to make their own judgments?
