Sotomayor Video: Judges Make Policy, Latinas Better Than Whites
NewsMax ^ | May 26, 2009 | By: Kenneth D. Williams

Judge Sonia Sotomayor, President Obama's pick to become the newest Supreme Court justice, is on the record with some controversial remarks about 'diversity,' 'judicial activism' and female judges vs. male judges.

For example, the New York Times reported that in 2001, at the annual Judge Mario G. Olmos Law and Cultural Diversity Lecture, Sotomayor had this to say:

“I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn’t lived that life.”

“Whether born from experience or inherent physiological or cultural differences,” she said later, regarding non-white, female judges, “our gender and national origins may and will make a difference in our judging.”

Also, there is a 2005 video of Sotomayor, speaking with potential law clerks, saying that a “court of appeals is where policy is made.” She added: “And I know — I know this is on tape, and I should never say that because we don’t make law. I know. O.K. I know. I’m not promoting it. I’m not advocating it ...”

I would hope that a wise European man with the richness of his experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a Latina who hasn’t lived that life.”

“Whether born from experience or inherent physiological or cultural differences,” he said later, regarding white male judges, “our gender and national origins may and will make a difference in our judging.”

Imagine the firestorm.

>>>>most people have come to accept and even expect “identity based” legal decisions.

Yes, concur completely. Out of fear they acquiesce.

And let’s drop identity based as a phrase, there’s a word not used in America but is essentially accurate - QUOTA!

Slight correction, but an important one:
“I would hope that a wise white male with the richness of his experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a Latin woman female who hasn’t lived that life.”

Notice the subtle way her statement dehumanizes white men. She refers to her group as the wise Latin women but white men as mere white males.

Communist manifesto 101 :

To conqure a country one needs to pit one race or sex against the other to sow discord or to usurp ( The Feminist have been entrenched and done well in this regard ) the established way of life, social structure, economics, military, laws in order to achieve the desired results .. i.e. over trow of the US way of life.

I don’t think its out of fear. This is what they are taught is fair and proper in colleges and by the media. Of course the little guy should beat the big guy, the minority should beat the white guy, the poor should beat the rich, the perverted should beat the normal. These people didnt arise overnight. It took 40 years of breeding them in universities, MTV, and Hollywood. They are the mainstream, those with traditional American values are now the freaks.

" The inmates have taken over.
I repeat: the inmates have TAKEN OVER. "

More to the point.... the Communists and Socialist have taken over... they just use the inmates for their evil means, and then throw them away as useful idiots.

I’ll be a contrarian and maintain that it is fear or at least apprehension of being perceived as retro or old fashioned.

Not to discount the reasons you cite, I agree with them, but that is the foundation for the opinion they cite.

Fear or intellectual sloth then makes them toe the Party line, kowtowing to the gods of conventional wisdom.

Either way, the result is the same!

You’re completely right. I also forgot sexism...

http://www.newsmax.com/insidecover/Sotomayor_statements/2009/05/26/218143.html?s=al&promo_code=8061-1

Before you dismiss that statement, read it this way: “I would hope that a wise white man with the richness of his experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a Latin female who hasn’t lived that life.”

Blatant racism and sexism in the highest court in the land?

Yes, reaching judicial decisions based on how feel, not on your interpretation of the Constitution. The perfect liberal candidate.

That's very interesting. I'm going to keep my eyes open for that and see if you're right.

I try to notice whenever a commonly-used word or phrase replaced by a new one, and ask why it's being done. (For instance, when and why were "the world" and "earth" replaced by "the planet"? As in "people suffering all over the world" is changed to "people suffering all over the planet.)

When will WHITEY strike back? SO many white these days are so ashamed to be white. When a white person takes about white pride, they get tagged with a Neo Nazi Ku klux Klan tag.
The left will push to get this woman on the Supreme Court, and whoa to the person who stands in the way.
