“North Korea Preparing to Fire ICBM”

MAY 30, 2009 08:17

SNIPPET: “Following its long-range rocket launch April 5 and its second nuclear test Monday, North Korea is reportedly ready to launch an intercontinental ballistic missile with a range of more than 5,000 kilometers.

This implies Pyongyang’s intention to heighten military tension regardless of possible sanctions against it discussed by the U.N. Security Council.

A source familiar with the issue said yesterday, “U.S. intelligence officials have spotted activity at Sanumdong, a research-and-development complex nearby Pyongyang. North Korea seems to be ready to produce a new ICBM and move them via train.”

According to Fox News, a U.S. intelligence official said support activity, including the movement of certain vehicles and personnel, has been spotted at Sanumdong. The official said the key North Korean military facility has senior U.S. officials “kind of worried,” and that the activity is consistent with that observed prior to the past launch of the Taepodong-2 missile.

North Korea has developed and produced parts and bodies of long-range missiles at Sanumdong. It manufactured the body and other parts of the long-range rocket launched April 5 at the complex, moved them to Musudan-ri in North Hamkyong Province via train, reassembled the parts, and fired the rocket from the launch site in Musudan-ri.”

North Korea to move intercontinental missile: report
Reuters ^
Posted on May 29, 2009 8:04:06 PM PDT by maccaca

SEOUL (Reuters) - North Korea is preparing to move an intercontinental ballistic missile from a factory near Pyongyang to a launch site on the east coast, a South Korean newspaper quoted a source in Washington as saying on Saturday.

The factory north of Pyongyang is the same place where the North manufactured the long-range rocket it fired on April 5 before moving it to the east-coast Musudan-ri missile range for assembly and launch, the Dong-a Ilbo newspaper said.

Regional powers are waiting to see what the North might do next after it conducted a nuclear test on Monday. South Korea is on alert on the assessment Pyongyang may make provocative moves using conventional weapons at their heavily armed border.

North Korea has warned of an intercontinental ballistic missile test in anger over U.N. Security Council punishment of what Pyongyang said was a satellite launch on April 5.

“Preparations to move an ICBM from the Saneum Weapons Research Center near Pyongyang by train have been captured by U.S. spy satellites,” Dong-a Ilbo quoted a source in Washington knowledgeable about the issue as saying.

The research lab is the North’s main center of research and manufacture of long-range missiles, the newspaper said

Scary thought II: We detonated the first nuclear weapon on July 16th, 1945 and dropped the first weapon on Hiroshima on August 6th, 1945, in order to demonstrate to Japan our resolve, our ability to use the weapon, and our desire for unconditional surrender. NK has the bomb, they have an ICBM ready, and they have an attitude. What does everyone think might happen next? And by the way, they have nothing to lose.

Sometimes the Beast looks right into ya. Right into your eyes. And, you know, the thing about the Beast... it's got lifeless eyes. Black eyes. Like a doll's eyes. When it comes at ya, it doesn't seem to be living... until it bites ya, and those black eyes roll over white and then... ah then you hear that terrible high-pitched screamin...

An intelligent person would park this weapon over the Sea of Japan,
and quietly test it, upon missile launch.
Then it would appear that North Korea had a missile failure right after launch.
And, ... if we're lucky, we'd kill the North Korean research team at the same time.
A little microwave can be very useful.

NK has the bomb, they have an ICBM ready, and they have an attitude. What does everyone think might happen next? And by the way, they have nothing to lose.

The most scary part is that Kim has nothing to lose, not just N Korea. Kim mentally il is dying and he knows it. Think of this, he has enough artillery in place to flatten Seoul and there would be no warning of it as there would be with a missile.

Start firing at Seoul get the world watching that, then send their nuke towards Japan, even a 4 KT weapon will take out a city core and cause untold deaths just from disruption of services.

Or, send the ICBM towards Japan first because Bozo won't shoot it down and will say it is just another test until it actually hits a Japanese city. Then they start their bombardment of Seoul.

I think the size of the Nuke as first reported was accurate, I think it was 20 Kt and they are now trying to downplay it.

Maybe Iran already has one ready to go also, of the same type as the N Korean one and they don't need to test it. Hit Japan, S korea and Israel(or even Saudi Oil fields)all on the same day and at close to the same time. What do you think would happen to the world economy then?
