'Gay' activist to oversee public classroom 'safety'
WorldNetDaily ^ | May 29, 2009 | Bob Unruh

The founder of the homosexual activist group GLSEN, which promotes homosexual clubs in high schools, middle schools and grade schools and is the driving force behind the annual "Day of Silence" celebration of homosexuality in many districts, has been handed a federal appointment where he will be responsible for overseeing "safety" in the nation's public schools.

...

The appointment of Kevin Jennings was posted – with little fanfare – on a government list of federal jobs recently. He was named by U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan to be the Assistant Deputy Secretary in the Office of Safe Schools.

...

"In his own writings and books listed on the GLSEN [Gay, Lesbian, Straight Education Network] Website, I've reported, Kevin Jennings has given tacit nods of approval to sex between young teens and adults," Harvey told WND. "In addition to that, the writings and books, many of which I've read and are incredibly graphic, seem to normalize early teen same-sex sexual behaviors."

Is this the wonderful “socialization” that homeschoolers are missing? ( Just wondering.)

THIS, right here, is in large part what is wrong with our public schools. Rather than teach reading, writing, arithmetic, true history, economics, critical thinking skills, and science, money and class time is wasted on this nonsense, global warming, and socialism group think. Education? More like education prevention.

We should teach kids to be respectful of all, and not to pick on anyone for any reason. If we do that, then there’s no need for Days of Silence and sensitivity training based on politically correct groups who have a grievance.

There is nothing wrong with a child, who is at a vulnerable age and that is being subjected to such blatant indoctrination, voicing his belief that the values of homosexual culture are debased and destructive - in the child's own words, of course. This isn't picking on anyone.

What constitutes 'bullying' and 'teasing' to the homo-activist is ANY suggestion, no matter how reasoned or fact-based, that casts the slightest aspersion on homosexual behavior - it is considered the worst type of bullying, worthy of expulsion or, worse, 'sensitivity training.' The latest school board outrage in Alameda School district was enacted because kids were calling other kids 'gay' as a fun-loving put down, for crying out loud.

Agreed 100%. But, I don’t believe they’re really interested in stopping bullying. They just want to make sure only they can be bullies.

It’s gotten to the point where I’m practically in tears every time I read one of these articles. What kind of world are we leaving for our children and grandchildren?

It’s not my business what consenting adults do in privacy, but when those adults start making it the business of children, our civilization is headed down the wrong path.

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL

This ping list is for the “other” articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.

If homosexuals would keep their private lives private like they say it is, there wouldn’t be any *discrimination* against them.

Instead, they push it in everyone’s face and then cry foul when people object.

They don’t want equal rights, which they already have as American citizens, they want special privileges based on nothing more than lifestyle choice.

And there’s NO NEED AT ALL for them to be pushing it kids. That’s just child abuse.

I normally don’t ping the homeschool list to threads which qualify for the Another Reason to Homeschool List, but this article and the information contained in the responses on this thread are very alarming and need to be seen.

So read it and weep, for what has become of our country and our society.

And fight it when and where you can.

One of the above links on GLSEN are bad. Here's a working link:
GLSEN Encourages Teens In Anal SEX "Don't give up"
What should alarm you even more is this article was written 8 years ago (in 2001).

I totally agree with you. I believe school is for learning the things like reading , English, math, languages etc. Sex ought to be left out of school. However if this gay agenda is going to be pushed down our children's throats we as parents better tell our children what gay sex really is. I don't like the thought but rather then have some queer tell my child all the wonderful (grr) crap about homo sex I will tell her myself.

This was one of the many reasons I decided to home school. I just hope & pray that the gays don't try to end home schooling.

I do know that if they were honest with the children & told them just what gay sex truly is most children would be grossed out. The gay agenda wants to use our children as their future partners. They call us normal families breeders and I truly resent that. What they are doing is totally gross, disgusting & parents ought to rise up & say enough. There is no normal reason to expose children to this, none at all.

Is it just me, or do the excuses like “Well, MY school’s different” or “but I’m their major influence, we correct the teachers’ propaganda at home” ringing more and more hollow every day?

Yup, I guess in addition to pushing our kids around, stealing their lunch money, and teaching them filthy language, we homeschooling parents are going to have to teach them about perversions, just to make sure they are properly “socialized” at home... /s

Until the mid-20th century, government schools were essentially government established Protestant Christian schools. (Just check out old textbooks if you doubt this statement)

Government schools came about due to the virulent anti-Catholicism of the 19th century.....So!...This is what we have now!

Those foolish, foolish, foolish, 19th century Protestants!!!!

Any government powerful enough to force a Protestant worldview on other people's children is powerful enough to force atheistic, anti-Christian, and perverted homosexuality on your children! ( And,,,make you pay for it!)

Oh...Some might say that parents have the “choice” to pay for private schooling or homeschooling. I call it a “choice” to by ransom your children. Some call it paying “jinza!”

And...Remember behind every government school teacher and principal stands an armed policeman. Refuse to pay for a homosexual agenda that establishes religious worldview that a citizen finds abhorrent, and armed police will eventually take action. If a citizen is sufficient resistant, those armed police are prepared to kill him.

Considering the amount of waking hours a kid spends in school, at school activities, and with his friends vs. with his parents afterwards, yeah, it does ring hollow.
