The sample done by Fox was 50 dealers, and we don’t know the methodology.

Also, the media has reported that 90% of the dealers were Republicans, so large cuts of Republican dealers would not be surprising.

The statement itself is a complete fabrication, made solely to distract away from the truth. Is making money selling cars only a Republican thing?

The obvious question which no one has asked of them is : How would you know this? How COULD you know this? You would have had to take all 3000 dealers and figure out by their political contributions how they lean to ascertain that.

No one has done that.

Except for a few intrepid folks like our own smith5460 and Josh Painter and others in the blogosphere who are methodically piecing together this information.

And it’s a twofer for the fascists in the White House.

Dem dealers make the cut, while Repub dealers in an area are cut. Thus the Dems are rewarded with more market share and guaranteed less competition, while the GOP is denied a source of funds for their local, state and national candidates by closing their franchises.

And that is the picture that is emerging.

“But was the same research done on the political leanings of the dealers who weren’t cut?”

Actually, the beauty of the situation (from the Obama standpoint) is that it really doesn’t matter - the only thing that matters is that business people develop the impression that if they don’t go along with the administration there’s a good chance they’ll get screwed by it.

It’s standard Chicago machine politics - a key aspect of the “pay-for-play” approach. If you cross the machine, or even don’t cooperate with it, you’ll never know if you’ll end up paying for it - but you do know you’ll never get any breaks from them. And when you’re an administration that’s got trillions of “bailout” dollars to play with, that’s plenty of influence to divvy out.

What the Fox sample showed was the main difference between the two groups was product lines.

Of the 4 products lines, the dealers closed were carrying only 2.5 and those open carried 3.64.

Former Clinton aide Mack McLarty is part owner of distributorships that were not closed...but his competition was. Significant?

If 90% or more of all the existing Dealers gave to GOP..we still have a story, becuase it is obvious then that Zero and his Chicago Mob don’t give a rats @@@ about car dealers..except for a few well connected. That is more likely the case.

This story isn’t worth much without an answer to this question.

Be patient. They are working hard on that very thing.

"Be patient"

In the meantime lets have a closer look at the list they have done.

Of the 800 dealers closed, Ms Schilling lists 58 that contributed either to a GOP national or state individual or group.

Of that 58, 14(about 25%) gave $500 or less.

Of that 58, 6(about 10%) gave $10,000 or more.

I report I saw on another website said approx. 80% of dealerships gave to the GOP. The other side of this coin has to be examined too. How many Obama contributors as a percentage of the whole survived the cut? Also read the other day that Chrysler will actually be opening some new dealerships even as they close these. That’s another project. Who among the new dealers is politically connected to Obama if any.

If I were Rahm Emmanuel and I wanted to send a chill throughout the business community I would do exactly what’s been done here. Close businesses that don’t support you. If you think that’s not possible you don’t understand the current relationship between business in this country and the Obama administration.

I suppose we can still complain about it, or do something about it...like file a lawsuit...under the equal protection clause...

Exactly. Until we look at both sides of the coin, this is nothing more then WND being World NUT Daily.

It isn’t just WND. In fact, they aren’t the ones doing the research. They’re just passing along the results. Think of it as an AP story in your local birdcage liner.
