I think that after 4 years of zerO the republican base is going to be much more energized in 2012 and the democrat base demoralized. The hard core acorn types will still cross over and mess with our primaries but i think the numbers will be on the conservative side and there will be a real choice in 2012, not an obama vs obama lite like we had this time.

I feel the same way but if they know us, if they've got all the data on us, if they know exactly how to say what they want to say to get what only they want then they have the power. Knowledge is power. They've got it, we don't.

case in point:

San Diego's downtown redevelopment agency was supposed to perform an impartial analysis of a new City Hall but hired a public relations firm that proposed to “build interest and excitement in this potential project.”

The firm was to be paid as much as $280,950, though that amount was lowered to $235,000 after The San Diego Union-Tribune raised questions about the contract.

The company, Sacramento-based California Strategies, coordinated polls and focus groups out of its San Diego office that offered the agency advice about “the most formidable challenges in overcoming resistance from the public.”

Read the rest of the article.... Rather than using anti-Main Street campaign contributions, in that case the politicians went so far as to use public money to figure out how to overcome public opposition. That is not how it is supposed to work.

but we can cause some heartburn of our own if we all vote for the worst candidate on the dem ticket.

Their worst candidate probably *will* be Obama.

"Right now the battle is to keep Mitt Romney from becoming the next McCain."

Romney won't run in 2012. Why? Because he's not Presidential material. It would be great fun to hear him give a real speech on everything he believes about Joe Smith though. What a hoot.

Romney doesn't want to throw money down the drain, and he'd be really nervous around Bobby Jindal or Liz Cheney. They'd bown him over in a New York minute.

I do believe you missed the point. We cannot “be like them” as we are not liars cheats and thieves. I am suggesting chaos- CHAOS. It’s something the Founders knew well and as we are fighting against the entrenched elite, we might want to unearth some of the finer tactics from the past, especially since they are being used against US.

“win at all costs”? We ain’t winnin’, friend. And I don’t steal from little old ladies and THIS remark pissed me off. You ARE a fun spoiler, ain’t ya?

I think that, financially, we are hurting them pretty well. As the NYT goes down into bancruptcy I shall celebrate.

Republicans did. Or don’t you remember Operation: Chaos ? And it wasn’t an infestation of liberal Democrats voting in our primaries that got us McCain, it was an infestation of liberal Democrat agent CANDIDATES. Juan, Huckster, Slick Willard, Rooty... When Fred Thompson departed, we had nothing but failed liberal RINOs ludicrously cross-dressing as Conservatives in the greatest farce we’ve seen in the modern era in a GOP Presidential primary.

I thought that Operation Chaos was Rush Limbaugh’s plan to prolong the Democrats’ nominating process by encouraging Republicans to cross over and vote for the underdog in the primary. It contributed to Hillary Clinton’s victory in Indiana.

Eh.

A)Obama is quite unlikely to have a serious primary challenge.

B)Conservative votes are needed in the Republican primaries.
