Tiller: ABC Cites Anonymous Tweets, Sawyer Gets Choked Up

Has ABC established a new journalistic standard: henceforth, is it OK to cite anonymous internet posts to demonstrate public opinion on an issue?

During its segment on the murder of abortion doctor George Tiller, ABC News reporter cited two inflammatory–and anonymous–Tweets. Later, at the conclusion of her interview of two associates of the late Dr. Tiller, Diane Sawyer seemed to choke up.

ABC News reporter Jeffrey Kofman was on the scene in Wichita, Kansas.

I think the most overlooked aspect of this whole affair is that the good doctor was murdered with a handgun. I rarely condone murder and won’t make an exception in this case. It’s just as wrong for some whack job who thinks he’s doing God’s work to snuff this abortionist as it is for death loving abortionists to kill babies so they don’t inconvenience any of the president’s offspring or for euthanasists to off grandpa because he was becoming an embarrassment at family reunions. But where are the gun grabbers? There has to be a reason they aren’t out in force and I’m left wondering what that reason is. My first guess would be that the church was a gun-free zone. It seems hard to imagine that so long after Matt cleaned up Dodge City there would still be places where law abiding citizens are denied the right to self defense there in Kansas, but it’s all I can think of that would keep the gun control crowd quiet on this one. Anybody know if the crime scene was a gun-free zone? It would be ironic to learn that “Killer” Tiller might have been spared if law abiding citizens had been afforded their constitutional right to self defense.

I grieve for his soul, which he sold to the devil, but not for the man himself. He made his choices. The babies he butchered never had a choice (or a chance).

maybe crying over her own abortions?

The murder of Tiller might make some of these liberals examine their consciences.

You might catch it from some for posting that picture, but not from me.

You can’t confront evil unless you have seen it.

And this is evil.

To tear an unborn, viable baby from the womb and to kill it, in its place of protection, is unspeakably evil.

God says that He made man in His image. This child is a unique creation, fully equipped to embark on a life of 70 plus years, and to have children of its own some day in the future.

For girls, they are born with all of the eggs they will pass in the future.

When an unborn child is killed, all of that child’s future children and posterity are cut off—forever.

Who among us would want to bear responsibility for that?

Mrs. exit82 and I have fought against abortion for over 20 years. I have seen this and worse, as far as pictures go.

I still grieve over each one that I see, for it represents millions I have not seen.

God is not mocked. What a man sows, he shall reap.

Mr. Tiller’s fate certainly shows God is not a liar.

Once again, I reiterate; I’ve seen these horrors up close and had to deal with gloating, sniggering abortion crews and it is amazing that anyone can compare eliminating this one man with his wanton, repeated murder of VIABLE pre-born children. Think of stumbling upon a terrorist preparing to detonate a WMD that would surely kill 60,000 people and deciding not to kill him since it would be equally wrong to take this one life. No, I am not condoning or advocating cold-blooded murder of abortionists, but I pray that some day our society awakens to the real horror here. Nowhere in all of the msm reporting is anyone clearly describing what he actually did, day in and day out, and gleefully to boot. The day is surely coming when we will all be judged for having not done everything necessary to stop this abomination. I’ve studied the Holocaust all my life and deeply believe that abortion is an even worse crime against humanity. WWJD? Do you think that Jesus would’ve just stood by and smiled and chatted politely with UNREPENTANT murderers of the most helpless among us? There is the doctrine of the “Just War” for a reason. If pre-emptive action had been taken in the mid-30’s against Hitler, Tojo, etal tens of millions could’ve been saved. At the time, no one wanted to take action against Hitler since he’d not attacked anyone (except for a few thousand Jews and other undesirables). Search out interviews done with now adult survivors of abortions and ponder their fate if their murderer had been more thorough. search out people in 20 years who may be alive because of the tragic event of yesterday. This is a most painful dilemna with no easy answer. For me, I will not mourn the death of this monster. he was every bit as evil as Himmler, Heydrich, Mengele, Frank, etal. We are all sinners, but do not ever try to tell me that Adolf Hitler and Mother Teresa were equally deserving of mercy, consideration, protection, and judgement. MAY GOD HAVE MERCY AND HEAL OUR LAND.

That’s a real good issue, karbine, and thanks for bringing it up. I hope you’ll stay on top of that angle and follow up on it. I’m personally more interested in the handgun murder aspect of the story and have still been searching, to no avail, for information about whether the firearm was legally possessed, etc. That information seems a bit difficult to obtain at this time, but I haven’t given up. In fact I determined earlier that Wyatt Earp once banned open carry in Ellsworth, Kansas as part of a ploy to capture Ben Thompson, who had murdered the previous sheriff in cold blood. Thompson later escaped from jail and I’m trying now to find out what the final disposition of his case was.
