I don’t think that this guy (i.e., the shooter) should have been committing murder to do away with another murderer.

BUT, having said that, why didn’t that shooter kill the women who had abortions — as being *more responsible* for the murder of the unborn — than the abortionist?

There couldn’t be any abortions if the women didn’t have them in the first place. You would have an abortionist with no business if no women came.

So, the women who have abortions should be given the death penalty — before the abortionist is...

[ that is..., if we could ever change the laws on abortions in this country...]

I understand and respect your opinion, but I must be honest about this. In a thread some time ago I said that I do not value the lives of people who torture dogs. To me the lives of those people are worth zero. Likewise, Tiller’s life is worthless to me because of his actions. From a practical standpoint, this means I won’t join in condemning the guy who made him go away.

The right answer is to restore the rule of law, to discredit Supreme Court excesses, and to pack the court with Justices who believe in the Constitution as written. Those who think race, foreign laws, or changing community values should be a factor in interpreting the law have no business on the Court, and we need to get decent people who believe in written laws back on the Supreme Court, where they belong. With Jutices who believe in the Constitution, Roe will be overturned, and this issue can be decided democratically - as it should have been in the first place.

Joining obama and liberals in abandoning the rule of law is exactly the wrong answer, even to this challenge.

I understand that anti-abortion activists considered Tiller's practice of late-term abortions to be heinous in and of itself - and they had a moral argument. But that moral argument is undermined by the shooting of a doctor - in a church, of all places.

It's more than moral argument to stay killing fully-formed babies is an act of murder. It's a FACT. It diminishes the humanity of infants to claim that such acts are merely a matter of opinion.

A Supreme Court that follows the US Constitution as written is the first half of the answer. The second half is finding a better way for citizens to cause the Constitution to be invoked (to avoid problems with Presidential citizenship, for example).

Terrorism in Wichita.........but not in Arknasas.

There is, 27 hours after the second event, ONE politician who has spoken out in condemnation of both acts.

Her name is Sarah Palin.

THE BRIEFING ROOM

THE WHITE HOUSE

Office of the Press Secretary

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE May 31, 2009

STATEMENT FROM THE PRESIDENT ON THE MURDER OF DR. GEORGE TILLER

I am shocked and outraged by the murder of Dr. George Tiller as he attended church services this morning. However profound our differences as Americans over difficult issues such as abortion, they cannot be resolved by heinous acts of violence.

Thus by use of violence, the shooter set out to achieve that which he could not achieve through the democratic political process.

The reason he "could not achieve" what he wished "through the democratic political process" is that abortion was not imposed on this country by any democratic process, but by judicial fiat.

Put it back into the "democratic political process" where it belongs, and you'll have fewer Scott Roeders.

I agree. But it’s funny that they will plaster his name across the world as a “terrorist” but they won’t do the same for the POS who shot and killed the military recruiter in Arkansas this morning.

Terrorism my patoot.
One mass murdering(1) (cough) 'doctor'(2) was killed by a nutjob with a history of mental illness. And if Tiller's name was Jones and he worked a as Mechanic the headlines would be... 'Man Killed In Church by Mentally Ill Gunman'.

Now. You wan to talk 'Terrorism'. Talk of the two U.S. Army Privates shot in front of the Arkansas Recruiting station (one died) by a Black convert to Islam (Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad), solely because they were in the U.S. Army. THAT, dear Debra is Terrorism! (and a Hate Crime. But that's another matter)

an aside, I must have missed the story on Eric Holder ordering U.S. Marshals to every Military Recruiting Station to protect the recruiters from other TERRORISTS like he did late Sunday for abortion doctors across the country. Or is that order from AG Holder still forthcoming? (((((( crickets ))))))

(1) Tiller performed 60,000 'late term' abortions in his career.
(2) 'doctor'? A fundamental medical precept for doctor's is 'First, Do No Harm'. Ergo, Tiller was no 'doctor'. Right now Tiller and Josef Mengele are comparing notes in HELL.
