Don’t you think you’re rushing to judgement here considering we haven’t even seen what the “threatening statement” was? Or how about the fact that law enforcement is now openly profiling and discriminating against vets? That DHS memo wasn’t just a rallying point; they mean business.

The article said he made threats and had the means to carry them out.

No, I think you are rushing to judgement. You have as many facts as I do and you are blaming this on the DHS memo without knowing if it had anything to do with it.
I repeat, no arrests would have been made if there wasn’t a report of threats being made.
The article said he made threats, the article didn’t say what threats or what means he had to carry out his unspecified threats. If you can tell me what the threats were I would be happy to here from you. Otherwise you are defending something that looks very much like harassment of a vet simply because he is one, and the threats could be no more than someone speaking out against Bozo’s policies. You are spinning your wheels here without any proof what so ever this guy actually made a threat. If you accept a news article saying he made a threat as proof you need to be better educated.

In theory you're right...but what happens when you've lost all confidence in government? Just a year ago I would have been on the government's side (and not because it was Bush's presidency...I'd have felt the same under ANY president up til now) But today we're confronted with evidence every day that our elected government is not interested in protecting this country or her citizens, only it's own power. The government is destroying our economy, they are actively warring against capitalism and the middle class. They have taken such a hard left that the wheels are coming off and we'd better wake up and pay attention or we'll all get killed in teh wreck.

The article said he had ‘made threats’ but there is absolutely nothing about him being able to ‘carry them out’ in the article.
Even the arresting officers have NO information as to what the threat was.

You have no more evidence of what happened then they do.
I'm not saying this is wrong, but isn't it interesting that, for the common citizen, the cops can't do anything about threats. The perp has to actually hurt you (or at least attempt to) before anything can be done.
Seems to me the laws should be changed so that viable threats (not off the cuff remarks) should be prosecutable for anyone, not just the Prez.

Friend. If paranoia was illegal you would need an attorney today. Certainly there have been stupid folks who got carried away with rhetoric against this (and previous) president but we will have to see. That is what open court proceedings are for.
As often as I’m sure these things have been investigated (I think that Jim Robinson has even stated posters have been looked into) that if they make an arrest it is probably not just a drunken slur but something real. If this is bogus we will find that out too.
