Freedom in America is over.

I don't think the law has provided the freedom to threaten presidents for a long time. I remember cases of people who threatened the life of President Bush getting a visit from the Secret Service the next day and sometimes later getting prison time. Whether President Bush or President Obama, threats against the president are threats against our Constitutional republic and should be taken seriously.

I’m completely serious. If you threaten the President and have weapons and training to carry out those threats, you need to be at the least questioned about it. If the guy had not made the threats, he would not have been arrested.

Google "kill bush" and see how many vile photos you find. Guarantee none of them were visited by the Secret Service or considered a "threat".

Maybe I shouldn’t be wearing my www.patriotshop.us tee shirt that says “Memo to Obama: Another Patriot Bitterly Clinging to Guns and Religion (and I’ll keep the rest of the Constitution, too).”

I might get arrested by Homeland Security.

And I know that a LOT of you had the same reaction as I: “dang, what trouble will I get into for thinking those thoughts? Best to keep my mouth shut and let my fingers do the talking.”

In my case, my CAR is plastered with bumperstickers and not just on the bumpers, either.

How do you know that? What was the threat? The clown serving the warrant didn’t even know what he was being charged with so how do you know?

It's probably an old geezer... * wink * who's wondering what the heck is happening to his country...

Otherwise... we'd have the guy's name and complete background information.

Does this story come from Obambi's new spin the news machine? He has hired 66,000 (indepent...kawf) journalists.

What exactly did the guy do? We all need to know where the boundaries are.
Was it a thought crime..? A spoken threat? A wish? An internet comment? Facts are are friends.

“I, (NAME), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.”

Is there an attorney out there (or anyone else!) who can tell me if “defend the Constitution” being listed first in this oath carries more weight than “obey the orders of the President”?

“...country is full of bumbkins like this moron sheriff who will follow orders against citizens no questions asked.”
___________

Law Enforcement Officer enforce the law. If the law was broken then an investigation and arrest is proper. Failure to do so would cause the system to break down. We impeached one presidentr because he lied under oath about a personal matter. Following the law at every level is that important. These sorts of charges are serious and should be enforced now as well as when we have a president more to our liking.

In 1775 a warning appeared in the Boston Gazette. Colonists were warned that the British would: 1.take their arms, 2.declare martial law and 3. remove all disloyal to the Crown to Great Britain. (for trial.) Stick around, folks.

Let me make this clear. Anyone who makes threats against the President and has the means to carry them out needs to at least be questioned about it. I don’t care who it is and I don’t care who the President is.

There is no freedom to make threats against the President. This guy would have been fine with his training and weapons alone, no one would have bothered him.

Two things wrong with your comment. One:)You don't know he made a threat, or what the "threat" consisted of since they won't release that info. Two:)You don't know that he would have been fine with his prior training, and no weapons were mentioned in the article that I could see. In fact very little info except for the fact he was a vet and was arrested was given out.

“Shambaugh said that his prior military background may have played somewhat of a role”

You knew someone would say something like this.

Btw, Obama’s on tv lying again about how they are giving the military what they need.

A SWAT team was assembled and team members met at the sheriff's office with the agents to conduct a briefing before going to Meadow's residence, which was located 12 miles south of town, near the Virginia line, he said.

Ya see this is what's wrong with America. They go in with small army to address this situation, making a little incident into a major event.

WTF is wrong with knocking on his door, or calling him to see if he's cooperative, or if he would come down and speak with the LEOs in town.. Or go to his door question him, make an arrest etc?

NOOOO, lets show up with a heavily armed military assault and entry team, maybe some armored vehicles, news helicopters etc.

What a joke
