URGENT: OBAMA TO PROPOSE DIVIDING JERUSALEM :: Making The Holy City The Capital Of Palestine
Email From: http://www.JoelRosenberg.com ^ | May 20, 2009 | Joel C. Rosenberg

Posted on 06/02/2009 4:36:20 PM PDT by Iraqs Inconvenient Truth.

(Washington, D.C., May 20, 2009) — Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has just finished his visit to Washington. Full analysis on my weblog, including a link to the YouTube clip of me on Glenn Beck’s show with a former CIA analyst who says he wouldn’t care if Israel ceased to exist.

MUST WATCH:
Joel On The Glen Beck Show

That said, there’s more troubling news this morning. I’m horrified by credible reports that in his June 4th speech in Cairo, President Obama will say it is time to divide Jerusalem and make the holy city the capital of a Palestinian state.

No, Mr. President, it is not

Jerusalem is and should be the eternal, undivided capital of the Jewish people and the Jewish state. Dividing Jerusalem will not make peace. Rather, it would send a message to every Radical Islamic jihadist around the world that Israel is weak, that the Jews won’t even defend the sovereignty of their own capital, that there is “blood in the water,” and that it is time to strike Israel and wipe her off the map. Dividing Jerusalem would trigger an apocalyptic war in the Middle East the likes of which the region has never seen.

I am committed to doing everything I possibly can to educate people — and particularly U.S. and Canadian evangelical Christians — to the threats facing Israel and the West due to Radical Islam, and to the biblical responsibility we have to show unconditional love and unwavering support to Israel and the Jewish people. We’ll use radio, TV, the internet, emails and other media to get the word out. But we can’t do it alone. We want and need your help.

One idea: let’s build an alliance of one million true friends of Israel — people who love Israel, are committed to blessing her in real and practical ways, are absolutely opposed to dividing Jerusalem, and will pray faithfully for the peace of Jerusalem and the protection of all the people of the epicenter.

Currently, we have 100,000 subscribers to our Flash Traffic email updates who are committed to this cause. If each of us recruited just 10 new friends to sign up for Flash Traffic and be part of this alliance, we would be able to communicate new information, new projects, and new prayer requests to them instantly. We would be able to mobilize people for pro-Israel events. We would be able to mobilize people to write to President Obama and their Congressional leaders to stand with Israel, not against her. We would be able to work together to stockpile food, clothing, medical supplies and other aid in Israel ahead of the next war. And we would be able to encourage one another with the knowledge that we are not alone in this important fight.

Will you join us?

For more on President Obama’s plan to divide Jerusalem — and to read analysis of Prime Minister Netanyahu’s visit:

COME TO ISRAEL AND ATTEND THE “JERUSALEM PRAYER SUMMIT”

Israel has never needed the unconditional love and unwavering support of evangelical Christians more than she does today. Yes, Iran, Hezbollah and Hamas are making threats. But the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is a great and mighty God. He is calling us to bless Israel and show her our love in a real and practical way.

That’s why we are moving forward with The Joshua Fund’s next “Prayer & Vision Trip,” and we would love for you to join us. It will be held November 5-17, 2009, and culminate in our first-ever “Jerusalem Prayer Summit.”

And now, by God’s grace, we have been able to reduce the price by $600 per couple.

If you have never been to the Holy Land, it is hard to describe what a profound spiritual effect such a journey can have on you and your family. You may have heard others say God’s Word seemed to “come alive” in a new way when they walked where Jesus walked, from the shores of Galilee to the Mount of Olives and into the streets of Jerusalem. Well, it’s true, and I believe our 2009 Israel trip will allow you to experience this for yourself and intensify your desire to walk closely with Jesus Christ.

If you have been to Israel before, this trip will be a great opportunity to deepen your understanding of how powerfully the Lord is moving there. I will teach at key locations and answer your questions about the future of the epicenter. You will have the opportunity to meet with and pray for local pastors and ministry leaders. We are arranging for you to spend time engaged in a practical Joshua Fund ministry project to bless the poor and needy. What’s more, you will participate in a two-day conference to pray for the peace of Jerusalem at this critical hour.

We can take up to 300 people, and to make your experience as personal and special as possible, you will be assigned to one of seven buses of about 45 people. Each bus will be hosted by a Joshua Fund staff or board member or couple, or one of our close allies. You will ride that bus with your host every day, and in the process you’ll get to know the people on your bus, study the Bible with them, pray with and for them, discover Israel together with them, ask questions with them, and thus form a small community. Lord willing, I will rotate through the buses to get to know you and answer your questions. Each bus will also have a professional, licensed Israeli tour guide who know every detail of the country inside and out.

Please click the link below, learn more, pray about it, and then — if the Lord gives you the green light — please sign up and come with us, while there is still space.

As always, we will do our best to keep you up-to-date on the kinds of projects we are doing, and brief you on how those projects are proceeding. We will also let you know about the kinds of projects we are developing for the future. In no way do we want to pressure anyone to give financially. We fully believe the Lord will provide for the needs of the people we seek to serve. But if you or others wish to help, we welcome your support, and all financial gifts are tax-deductible.

Thanks so much and may the Lord richly bless you and your family as you bless Israel and her neighbors in the name of Jesus — especially at critical moment in history of the epicenter.

Brian Williams looked very uncomfortable riding in the limo with BO, on last night’s special. Part II is tonight. Williams would not make eye contact with BO, the whole time he (BO) was talking (and BO was doing most of the talking). Maybe Brian Williams was just car sick, riding in the back - it’s hard to say.

He’s not a political person. I’ve run off articles for him but he’s not interested.

I hate to say this, but the days of being contentedly disconnected from the political arena are long gone. What happens in Washington affects our lives directly, even more so, now that we've got an actual Marxist running the country.

A tremendous pain is coming for the American people. When it finally descends on us, no American will have the luxury of not caring about politics.

I rather doubt that he will be so stupid as to come out in public and say this. He will lose a lot of support in the Congress among his own party, and will galvanize opposition. Remember, so far as our Republic and our liberties are concerned, he is evil - not stupid.

HOWEVER...

...IF he says this in Cairo or anywhere else, at any time, Netanyahu will tell him, “Kenyan, come and take it!”

The Jewish People have fought the Pharaohs, the Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks and Romans, have survived the Spanish, the Czars of Russia and the Nazis, and re-established their nation among a sea of hostile people armed by the Soviet Empire after nearly 2,000 years of exile and persecution. I daresay that Jews qualify as the world’s most stubborn and determined people, so modern Israel will not bend its knee to Barry Soetero. The very thought is laughable - who is he, compared to Rameses, to Nebuchadnezzar, to Haman, to Antiochus, to Titus and Hadrian, to the Czars and Hitler? He’s a nobody, a nothing, a child. He, like all of them, will long since be dust while the Jews will thrive in Israel.

Wow! Thanks for the compliment!

The problem is the time bombs. They "trained our chuildren well - as the folk song goes... 60 years of constant leftist indoctrination has made believers out of a majority of American adults. Who can pass up a warm and fuzzy Bob Dylan or Joan Biaz tune and not think of JFK, The Great Society and "all the crap I learned in high school" (Simon & Garfunkle). It permeates our society to the point where it becomes the norm. Then we sink...

And as the fit hits the shan, all that is heard from the (liberal) "official" Jewish communal organizations is silence punctuated by the occasional warning of the dangers of chr*stian Fundamentalists.

I think liberal American Jews are embarrassed by Jerusalem and the "redneck" G-d it symbolizes and would gladly give the whole thing to the Arabs to be rid of it. Their true capital is Weimar.

Did I say something to upset you, what with your implication that I haven’t truly studied, and your “BTW some of us do work and do not live on the Internet”? A bit insulting, that was. Maybe it was my pointing out the lack of S on Revelation; if that was offensive, I apologize. It’s just a pet peeve I have. :)

I do disagree with your use of Daniel 11:37; I think the text actually says the opposite, for Israel’s God, “the God of gods,” is covered in the previous verse. In context the passage reads

Daniel 11:36 And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done.
Daniel 11:37 Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all.
Daniel 11:38 But in his estate shall he honour the God of forces: and a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honour with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things.
Daniel 11:39 Thus shall he do in the most strong holds with a strange god, whom he shall acknowledge and increase with glory: and he shall cause them to rule over many, and shall divide the land for gain.

Think about this - v36 says that he 1) magnifies himself above all gods, AND 2) speaks things against the God of gods - YHWH, AND NEITHER 3) does he regard the God of his fathers (v37).

My point - the “God of his fathers” is listed in ADDITION to, SEPARATELY from the previously mentioned “all gods” and “God of gods.”

This separate listing seems to demonstrate pretty clearly that the God of his fathers is one other than the aforementioned YHWH. (In my opinion, the God of the AC’s fathers is Allah, but that’s another discussion.)

I still don’t know where in Revelation we’re told that Christ returns for the church before the AC is revealed. But that’s ok - as I said before, no one asked for an argument, just discussion. I rather enjoy debating scriptural points of all kinds - eschatology, doctrine, apologetics etc - having my positions challenged keeps me digging in the text and sometimes even proves me wrong, and at the very least, quite often shows me things I haven’t ever noticed before, which is always exciting. But no problem. Have a good afternoon.

Oh, while I’m thinking of it, if you are interested, here’s the new covenant in the OT, although I’m probably not remembering all that I’ve found and I’m sure there are others -

Deut 30
Ezekiel 11:17-20
Ezekiel 16:62
Ezekiel 36:24-28
Ezekiel 37
Jeremiah 31-33
Jeremiah 50:5
Hosea 2
Isaiah 56:3
Luke 22:20
and of course Hebrews 8 & 12.

When I realized that the new covenant was first mentioned all the way back in Deut 30, wow, was that cool. As a whole I think 29-30 are amazing chapters in that they basically detail the future history of Israel - their rebellion, exile, diaspora, reconciliation and redemption. V6 mentions the new covenant, not using the term, but the same action and reaction as it is described elsewhere - heart circumcision so that they will love the Lord their God with all their heart and being (Matt 22:37). I’ve no doubt I’ll find others the next time through the OT. That’s the most exciting thing, imo, about study - you always find things you never saw before.

In fact along those lines, Deut 29 ends with another cool verse that goes right along with your Amos one and my Proverbs one - “things which are hidden belong to the Lord your God, but the things that have been revealed belong to us and our children forever, so that we can observe all the words of this Torah.” Just awesome, that God is always revealing things to those who seek Him. :)

Me, too. I do think that there's a lot of buyer's remorse among the more politically independent Jews. The true believers in Pharaohbama will never change, and I'm not going to waste my time trying (though I will spend time annoying them whenever possible).

you may have something there. But in order to be the Caliphate one must be blood thirsty.

I know Obama's buddies are blood thirsty but I don't see him as being blood thirsty. I seem him as just an ignorant fool.
