“Well, at least they did it thru the proper channels (legislature) as opposed to the courts.
I agree. “

That’s true. I know that when age of consent laws are abolished, I’m going to feel so much better about it if it happens thru the proper channels (legislature) as opposed to the courts/(In case folks reading this don’t realize it, I’m being very sarcastic here).

It’s sad to see our nation go through Romans 1.

I thought New Hampshire was the Free State Project for conservatism.

It is. I read a big article (surprisingly unbiased) about it in The Boston Globe last week.

Another state to cross off of my states-to-visit list.

Same here. I've never been to New England, and the options are getting a lot fewer. Will NEVER go to mAssachusetts. I look forward to visiting Maine (Acadia area) IF the voters veto the inane homo-"marriage" legislation recently passed.

One would almost think that the people of NH haven’t much of a clue about anything moral.

The odd NH people who would vote “no”, however, vote “yes” for liberals, and this is the result.

I suspect that outside of leftist University towns in NH, you’re going to see a big buyers’-remorse backlash in the upcoming elections. We hold general elections every two years here, even for the Governor’s office.

Already two Republicans have won victories over Democrats in special elections. A Democrat, apparently violating the Hatch Act, just won another seat on Tuesday in a leftist university town, but it didn’t change parties.

Don't confuse "the people" with "the Democrats" who are busy ramming their radical agenda down our throats.

but the State Legislature is where this type of decision should be made.

I disagree. The people who are being forced to live in Sodom should have been able to vote on it.
Let the people of the state decide their own social issues, and keep the dirty political money out of it. It benefits no one but the corrupt.

I can remember when NH was a solid conservative bastion. Those days are gone as the migrants from the Peoples Republic of Massachusetts and NY moved in and took over. What a shame. Pretty soon they may follow Vermont as a Trotsky Plebisite.

This has to be the only country on the planet that is so rich, we can afford to have ‘fun’ with social experiments that completely destabilize the country’s social/economic/political environment.

What do you say we go for the constitutional amendment vote now?

I don’t believe that the initiative petition option exists for New Hampshire.

No. New Hampshire has a House of 400 members paid $100 per year, a Supreme Court whose members are chosen for life, and in addition to 24 State Senators, a 5 member elected Executive Council which has considerable power.

If conservatives were to get back the Governor’s seat lost in 2004 to Massachusetts residents who lied when they said they intended to live in New Hampshire (which has same-day registration), much of this could be stopped. But since New Hampshire is surrounded by Socialist states, it would take a national change in direction.

I thought New Hampshire was the Free State Project for conservatism.

The Free State Project is libertarian, not conservative. It has unfortunately hurt conservative Republicans, such as former governor Benson, and the previously solidly Republican state House and Senate. Your average activist Libertarian will convince many people to vote Socialist - very poor sales skills. Having been a registered Libertarian for 25 years (left in 2004), it annoys me. On the other hand, when a sitting Democrat in a safe district proposed a state income tax, when it was announced that she lost in the priomey, the Democrat legislators in the state House gave the news of her defeat a standing ovation. So New Hampshire is still, for now, fiscally conservative.
