The East Wing has not announced it, but First Lady Michelle Obama will head to Paris next week, after accompanying President Obama to Normandy to mark the 65th anniversary of the June 6, 1944 landing of Allied troops on French shores.
Mrs. Obama's press office only disclosed that the First Lady would be in Normandy on Saturday. "She'll have no public events beyond Normandy," I was told on Tuesday afternoon.
But it turned out there was a high-level leaker in the White House -- President Obama -- who dropped the news in an interview with a French television outlet that Mrs. Obama's visit to France is likely to be more extended.
Obama told Canal Plus reporter Laura Haim in an "interview exclusive de Barack" about Mrs. Obama's travel plans.
"I think she's definitely coming to Normandy with us. And then I think she may be staying in Paris for a few days," Obama said.
Another source told me daughters Malia and Sasha will also be in Paris.
My very well-informed French connection told me for the "private" part of the Obama visit in Paris, plans are changing all the time.

Hey Georgia....You don't know who is paying for what and even if tax dollars are paying...it is a State visit and should be paid by the tax payer. Sarah Palin on the other hand was taking her kids out of school and traipsing her pregnant 16 year old on the national stage to get herself elected rather than doing her part for world peace as Mrs. Obama and the girls and doing....HUGE difference.
Oh well great minds think alike...So Let’s see, Michelle takes the girls out of their swank private school (or perhaps they are now on vaca) to jet to France, Michelle & hubby have a Valentine’s date in Chicago, a “date nite” in New York; cocktail parties, waygu beef dinners and pizza parties with Chef flown in from St. Louis in the White House, all on the taxpayer’s dime.
Yet we common folk (voters) are all supposed to sacrifice & put skin in game, we loose 500,000+ jobs/month, have indebted our children to tune of 11 TRILLION.
Who knew we had voted in a royal king and queen because that is what we have.
Best thing that can come of Hussein’s* trip to middle east is that her can bring her back a designer burqa :(
**Oh that’s right, during campaign we could not use his middle name, yet today he tells the world that we are one of the largest muslim countries and the world learns (contrary to his campaign website) that his father and grandmother were indeed muslim.
