The government is continuing to encroach on freedoms more and more in the name of climate change. Case in point: An ordinance that went into effect June 1 stating if you sell your home in Austin, Texas and you fail to get a clean energy "green" audit, you will likely face criminal charges.
According to an ordinance passed by the Austin City Council passed in November 2008, any home 10 years or older will require an "Energy Conservation Audit. Failure to comply - criminal charges as explained by the local community-owned electric utility:

Ping me if you find one I've missed.
I don’t think this fascist crap is going to cross the county line from Travis into Williamson where I live.
Wow. Y'all need to move some conservatives to Austin!
Hmmm.....nice case to take to trial. Plead not guilty by reason of sanity.
It appears the Amish saw this coming. "Be no part of Obomas evil world."
How does this differ from the “home inspection” that everyone always gets anyway? Except that before the buyer paid for it and now the seller pays?
I was talking to someone this week and mentioned that I loved Texas. This person said Texas was a terrible place to live, except for Austin. I knew his politics without him ever speaking another word.
I sold a house in Austin last year. Glad I finally unloaded that. Texas is a great state. Compared to most of Texas, Austin is pretty liberal. Compared to most of the country, Austin is pretty moderate. Compared to the east and west coasts, Austin is very conservative.
Hehe. No, but he was wearing a peace and justice t-shirt, which I really didn’t notice until after his comments were made.
Texas was the first place I saw three bathrooms in the hotel.
One marked Men, One marked Women and One marked Transgendered
Nothing surprises me any more on once conservative people or places bending over backwards to show they are not.
No conservatives in their right minds want to live in Austin.
“How does this differ from the home inspection that everyone always gets anyway?”
Because it criminalizes drafty homes and leaky faucets.
I’m West of you by about 90 miles, I put up with those green fascists long enough in my profession where I had to travel to Austin often for various reasons. I’ve never seen a more self-righteous bunch in my life, good luck, I don’t see any pressure being put on those fascists anytime soon.
Remember when Ann Richards required all state vehicles to be dual fuel (gasoline/propane)? Oh yeah, real great, during the 80s when the “solution to pollution” and more enviro-insanity using propane/gasoline dual systems, VERY expensive switch over and NOT safe. Of course, those of us who lived in rural areas could NOT find a place to refill w/propane after 5PM (these were patrol vehicles too). Sure, there were farmers that would gladly help out but you’d better not be caught filling up at anyplace but “approved” LPG dealers. LOL!
That’s what green fascism does for you.
Yes it is. And where I live, they are taxing our own private water wells in the name of "conservation" which does NOTHING to conserve anything. BTW, large subdivisions coming in are somehow "exempt" but us individual well owners are not.
Just like we protested at county court meetings on this issue, that it would lead to nothing but yet another bureaucracy, which it did. Meters are next on our wells, they've already made this known.
Texas us turning to fascism just like the rest of the country don't kid yourself. Thank you Gov. Goodhair Perry.
Austin is the liberal armpit of an otherwise great state! "Pretty moderate" and "very conservative" are completely inaccurate in any discussion of The People's Republic of Austin. Austin is like San Francesspool without the bridge.
“This is in TEXAS???”
...Austin really isn’t Texas. It’s Austin, surrounded by conservatives who wish they could move Austin to Massachusetts, NY etc. Austin is like a tapeworm in an otherwise healthy 200 lb man. It could grow.
Austin is Texas’ lil piece of California
