Muslim "Hero" Who Was Nice to Robber Not Such a Hero After All

Remember the story, earlier this week, hailing Muslim New York convenience store and deli owner Mohammad Sohail for being so nice to a robber, after foiling the robbery--giving him money and food and getting him to inquire about converting to Islam?

With CAIR and the rest of Islamic America overhyping this story, how could you miss it?

But, in fact, Mr. Sohail is not the "hero" the media and Muslim propaganda pimps made him out to be.

Here's the follow-up story that strangely isn't getting quite the attention the "hero" story got. You know--wouldn't want to burst the fake balloon of a Muslim-American hero.

Authorities had warned Shirley deli owner Mohammad Sohail about his alleged illegal sale of drug paraphernalia several times before raiding his store Tuesday, officials said in a news conference Thursday.

Sohail is among the owners of seven Huntington and Brookhaven shop owners who face civil penalties for allegedly selling illegal pipes, bongs and hookahs. The raid on Sohail's business came at the end of a day when national media reports hailed the deli owner for showing mercy on a would-be robber, an act captured in a surveillance video.

Stunning. And typical: the $40 wasn’t to help the guy out — it was “hush money” to keep the cops away. Figures!

Read it again maybe. He didn’t want the cops around after a robbery to discover the bongs, so he paid the would-be robber to leave. He wasn’t being “generous” at all.

“Big deal. He sells bongs.”

Yeah, last time I looked, they were illegal where he lives. Just the law, nothing to see here, move along.

So what if he sold bongs? I like how the law enforcement was not there to prevent this robbery but they came out in full force to persecute this store owner.

He’s a typical foreign criminal enabler. I hope they lock him up and throw away the key. Not because there’s anything morally wrong about marijuana (there isn’t — it ought to be legal) but because what he’s doing is against the law, he knows it is against the law, and he flouts the laws of a land that has been good enough to give him a home, regardless. That’s bad Citizenship.

A pretty good example of the time and energy wasted by our government. Harassing citizens for selling bongs, while the criminals are busy committing crimes. What a stupid law. Drug paraphernaliacan be sold legally, unless the person intends to use it for drugs. All based upon whether the seller is aware that the purchaser is going to use it in their use of drugs. Nothing subjective about that. What a waste of good tax payer money.

YIKES!!! So you support STRICTLY enforcing laws that you think are wrong or should be changed? Wouldn't it make more sense to support changing the law instead?

OooooooK! W/ that line of thinking (& provided that you are pro-life like I am), it sounds like you might support having the FBI start rounding up pro-life demonstrators who come too close to an abortion mill, possibly? After all, I thought there was a federal law preventing such an activity.

W/ friends like these, who needs enemies...

No, read it again: I am opposed to immigrants moving to a new country and flouting that country’s laws — irrespective of whether those laws are, in the opinion of the immigrant — good laws or bad laws or indifferent laws. Doing that is Bad Citizenship and Bad Manners. It shows a remarkable level of Disrespect and ingratitude to a country that has provided the immigrant with a new home.

Speaking as an Immigrant myself I would not dream of doing such a thing to my new Country. Sure, now that I am here, with Citizenship, I may well choose to try to have the laws changed thru legal means: that is my right, and if the laws are egregious then it is also my responsibility as a Good Citizen.

But it is never my right to flout the laws of the Land. Not as a natural born Citizen and all the moreso definitely not as a naturalized Immigrant Citizen.

> OooooooK! W/ that line of thinking (& provided that you are pro-life like I am), it sounds like you might support having the FBI start rounding up pro-life demonstrators who come too close to an abortion mill, possibly? After all, I thought there was a federal law preventing such an activity.

Given the above clarification and context, I hope you can see where this straw man would fall over. As a new immigrant I would not participate in Civil Disobedience — and indeed I never have. Not even since becoming a Citizen. I do not believe in Civil Disobedience to start with: I’m quite happy to use The System to change The System. And on the day that fails to work the only recourse is outright rebellion and mutiny.

You see, The System does work.
