I am also the great Satan to one former, so I know what you mean.
It makes no difference to God’s plan whether the service is like that of Satan or otherwise. It makes a difference to the servant. If someone chooses to do Satan’s work, they should be ready to accept Satan’s wages.
Too many people cannot get away from looking at all collective aspects of the Roeder shooting as a morally atomic event. God, being sovereign, can steer and funnel voluntary acts of wrongdoing to bring a divine retribution upon the heads of wrongdoers. Think of it this way: when Tiller comes before the throne of God, God can now ask Tiller what it was like to have been killed by a deluded loon or by a murderer (which ever the case may be), before rubbing Tiller’s nose in his own earthly deluded windmill-tilting or murders (which ever the case may be). If God did not have this kind of sovereign control, such a scenario would be impossible for God to arrange.
Personally I feel absolutely no pity for Tiller.
