belly fat causes testosterone?

Can you elaborate on that, or provide a link? I’ve never heard of this. I knew about fat that produces estrogen. I read once that extremely large women that lose their ovaries from cancer or other problems can get by without hormone treatments because their body fat makes up for the loss of estrogen.

I found this out when looking for information on metabolic syndrome. SCAT (subcutaneous adipose tissue) is the one that produces estrogen but VAT (visceral adipose tissue) does the opposite. I've also read that SCAT around the midsection of women behaves more like VAT so that doesn't help either.
