I would like this thread to be a compilation of stories from those of you who have friends or acquantances who voted for Obama, and are now souring and letting it be known.
I've been reading comments from time to time in varying threads from posters saying that they have family/friends, etc., that are turning on obummer.
Let's warm our cockles by assembling the anecdotal evidence here!
I won't believe any of this till i see it.
Why the hell would they turn on the guy who is delivering Socialsm beyond their wildest dreams?
There is a hardcore group of losers that voted for him that will NEVER change or find fault in him.
But there is a big mushy middle that duped themselves into believing he’s something he’s not. And now that reality is in full bloom I think there will be a big fall out.
I’ve talked to two guys lately that voted for him that are not happy but they won’t really verbalize it. They just play down what’s going on but they are certainly not the cheerleaders they were prior to election. I imagine if I was a fellow lib, they’d be more open to share their concerns but pride is still in the way at this point.
I have a few libtard friends that are really upset with Obama because he hasn’t bankrupt and taken over enough big corporations yet.
He's got a plan for Congress too - what need is there for them when you can merely annoint a Czar to do what they will not?
Does French President Sarkozy count as a lib? ‘Cause he just smacked down zer0bama in Normandy. You gotta see Sarkozy’s incredibly great speech! I’m sure it will be posted somewhere soon.
I was at a local construction union hall paying my $400 fine for being late with my dues due to layoff and overheard some reps in another room ranting about how they are getting screwed over by this Obama administration, How trillions are going out of the country to pay hedge funds while the states get narry a trickle for infastructure, while capital investors have pulled out of all building investments, they predict a little spurt followed by total collapse.
It’s interesting to note that Obama bumper stickers, numerous in the Spokane area before and just after the election, have all but disappeared.
Life long Dem. Pissing and Moaning about the increase of Taxes in Mass and how the eldery are getting hit, then segways into 62 trillion in debt, (my guess the guys he is hanging with are conservatives or he is listening to Beck or Rush a bit in his truck).
I told him I have a clear concious I voted for Palin.
I got a sigh of resignation, "ah live and learn, toruble is you can't trust any of them anymore, people don't feel like voting".
“Its interesting to note that Obama bumper stickers, numerous in the Spokane area before and just after the election, have all but disappeared.”
Same thing in my neck of the woods. I was just commenting on the lack of 0 bumper stickers the other day.
I know an attorney and his wife that are fairly liberal democrats that both voted for Obama. He was less enthusiastic than his wife. They have huge buyer’s remorse. He realizes that O is a puppet for the elite and is turning the country into an oligarchy. They have been stocking up on food, ammo and other forms of preparation.
After 8 years of the same Party holding the White House, it is unusual for that Party to win another 4 year term.
Also, we ran a HORRIBLE candidate. I do admire John McCain in some ways. However, he has made a career out of aggravating Republicans and kissing up to our enemies in the press. Conservatives were asked to hold our noses on Global Warming, on Immigration, on “McCain-Feingold” “water boarding” “Gitmo” and on many other issues.
On top of this, the MSM refused to tell the truth about the financial mess, which was CAUSED by Democrats -— and John McCain seemed clueless about how to explain it to people.
In that environment, it is amazing that the margin of victory was so slim. Also, the people don't like to be lied to or taken for suckers, this is why the "NO WMD" charge actually worked --- even though Bush really didn't bring up WMD's as much as many of the Dems in Congress, prior to the invasion of Iraq. Obama lied about his Muslim roots. Obama still won't show is Birth Certificate, which troubles some who actually believe he was born in the USA. Obama made many campaign promises he now can't keep. People are slow to admit that they made a mistake. People are also VERY QUICK to blame others for their mistakes, once the mistake is obvious.
Those of my friends who voted for obama are hardly socialists; they voted for the "first black president" so they could feel the warm fuzzies as a result. Now, they're feeling Buyer's Remorse because of his pro-illegal alien and pro-muzzie leanings.
I’m looking for signs of a turn in the tide here in midcoast Maine but so far haven’t seen it. Too many people looking for handouts. I figure it’ll happen but later in the summer or early fall.
Deep down, I think that a significant number of hopey-changey voters realize that they’ve been well and truly had. They’re just not quite sure what to do about it.
There’s a huge contingent waiting on their handouts, still telling themselves to wait just a bit more and it will come. I will almost enjoy watching their mugging.
I felt that way too, about Sarkozy’s speech, but would be interested to hear your take on it.
No family or friends turning, but I see comments all the time on the net from people who voted for Obama who are now ‘disappointed’ ... all the way to outraged about him.
