“Humanist”? As opposed to conservatives, who are obviously non-humanist. Anyone who isn’t a humanist must be anti-human. [/sarc] I luv it how they invent these innocent sounding terms to avoid saying “liberal”.

It is an enhancement. Liberals are Humanists.

It is part of their Religion.

I may just be too young or naive to see the importance, but can someone please tell me why the biggest support for this woman comes in the form of race and gender? When I see people commenting on her ability to preform her job, those who support her tend to state things like “you just don't want a Hispanic woman on the SC”.

Just like with the presidential election, I don't see what skin color or the location of specific organs have to do with ones ability to preform the job.

Is it just me? Or is anyone else absolutely confused by all this?

And it’s amazing how they push their religion as absolute truth while screaming violation of separation of church and state for Christians promoting theirs.

Its just like with Colon Powell.

In their final judgement, race and gender trump everything else.

Ultimately there are racists.

You are nieve if you don’t see that.

Actually the left is using the race card and calling anyone who opposes her a Racist.
It's just one of the tactics they're using.

Please read it again. I stated that those who support her do so for gender and race.

I think you misread the post—it’s NOT supporting Sotomayor but rather questioning her supporters.

I luv it how they invent these innocent sounding terms to avoid saying “liberal”.
In essence their entire system is to prevent the articulation of rational thought . . . which is essential to them because their system rejects reason for emotion. They are
sophist
1542, earlier sophister (c.1380), from L. sophista, sophistes, from Gk. sophistes, from sophizesthai "to become wise or learned," from sophos "wise, clever," of unknown origin. Gk. sophistes came to mean "one who gives intellectual instruction for pay," and, contrasted with "philosopher," it became a term of contempt. Ancient sophists were famous for their clever, specious arguments.
philosopher
O.E. philosophe, from L. philosophus, from Gk. philosophos "philosopher," lit. "lover of wisdom," from philos "loving" + sophos "wise, a sage."

"Pythagoras was the first who called himself philosophos, instead of sophos, 'wise man,' since this latter term was suggestive of immodesty." [Klein]

They avoid "the L-word" now, but in fact they first stole that term from us. At the start of the Twentieth Century the term "liberal" meant the same in America as it still does in the rest of the world - essentially, what is called "conservatism" in American Newspeak. Of course we "American Conservatives" are not the ones who oppose development and liberty, so in that sense we are not conservative at all. We actually are liberals.

But in America, "liberalism" was given its American Newspeak - essentially inverted - meaning in the 1920s (source: Safire's New Political Dictionary). The fact that the American socialists have acquired a word to exploit is bad enough; the real disaster is that we do not now have a word which truly descriptive of our own political perspective. We only have the smear words which the socialists have assigned to us. And make no mistake, in America "conservative" is inherently a negative connotation just as surely as marketers love to boldly proclaim that the product which they are flogging is NEW!

In fact, their system is not only not "liberal," it is not "social," either - it is the promotion of government power. It is what I call "governmentist," which is merely a neologism which only means tyranny. It is no wonder, then, that governmentists systematically avoid the use of clear terminology. They won't even say, "government" when they can say, "public" or "the public sector" instead.

A “Humanist”, as far as a biblical worldview is concerned, is nothing more than a Satanist.
