Why aren't our conservative "leaders" pointing out that a person can now get up in the morning and go to work for a government owned industry, he may have to buy his car from the government, the car loan, his house loan, all his loans may be from a government owned bank, that means he may have to buy his house from the government.
If Obama has his way, when the worker gets sick his doctor will be the government.
For a GM or Chrysler worker, the government may now control virtually every aspect of his or her life. Even his union is now in partnership with the government as owner of his employer!
When you go to court on a dispute with your employer, your doctor, your bank, your mortgage lender - the court and your opponent will both be arms of the government. The judge may have been appointed by your ultimate boss - Barack Obama.
Where can a person reasonably turn for help under such a system. Who can dare speak out against everyone who has power over their lives and livelihood?
Oh, and is no one going to discuss the danger of having government as the owner of all our personal data? Not just medical which is supposed to be so personal. Your employment history. Your financial history. Your consumer choices.
Can you even imagine what the democrats will do with all this? People already are afraid to run against them because of the dirty tactics they use. How many people are brave enough to run against their employer?
What will it take to educate people on the evils of government controlled everything? That's simple.
IF the republicans can capture the presidency and/ or Congress, suddenly every newspaper and every academic will be explaining these evil machinations and how the latest "Cheney" is exploiting workers, borrowers, patients, for "partisan political purposes".
Then it will be an exceedingly bad idea to have government owning everything.
Do yourself a favor........ don’t look up the definition of fascism.
Take the quotes from around leaders and put them around conservative, and you’ll have your answer.
This is a VERY good summation!!!
"Ya load 16 tons and whaddaya get,
Another day older and deeper in debt.
St. Peter don ya call me, 'cause I can't go,
I owe my soul to the company store."
Walt, is that you? God Bless You if it is!
Look for a blockbuster. They aren’t around... Why?
The “Government” LIBRARY has replaced them
Ah, did Mercedes fight against Hitler?
It is because they are investors, and come what may to liberties, they want to be richer.

Not to nit pick......
(Too much)
But.....
That was Tennessee Ernie Ford.
Tennessee Williams was a writer. Tobacco Road, etc.
What could possibly be wrong with a single, efficient, thrifty, compassionate source for everything? You ignore the Greater Good, citizen.
LOLOLOL you are right Right! And, I knew that. I even saw him in my mind’s eye while writing my comment, thanks for correcting it. Don’t know why I wrote Tennessee Williams. (Know who he was, too. LOL) Shorter to type, maybe? Ford had a funny show pn TV for a while, though...I remember my family gathering to watch it. My mother called it the “Funny hillbilly show.”
George Orwell (Animal Farm) and Aldous Huxley (Brave New World) were right. Only trouble is, most people were reading “Gone With TheWind” or the like, instead.
A position many here and elsewhere in the conservative movement have warned against for many years. Now the things so many feared for so long are actually coming to past.
Thanks for the ping, Race; the post Williams. Short and sweet post/thread.
