I think it would be instructive to compare President Eisenhower’s walk on that hallowed beach to that of President Clinton. The first made my heart swell with pride, and empathy, while the other made me cringe. God bless men, and women, such as President Eisenhower, who accept such burdens so willingly and bear them so admirably, seems that they are much fewer these days.
