Ed Anger Says: David Letterman = David Bitterman!
Weekly World News ^ | 6/12/09 | Ed Anger

I never much cared for that David Letterman fellow, and not just because his show is on way past my bedtime. But I think he’s finally lost it!

The other night he made some weird joke about Sarah Palin’s 14-year-old daughter getting raped by a baseball player at a charity event. I didn’t really get it – young people today have a funny sense of humor, I guess.

After some normal folks complained, Letterman said he was sorry, but not really. You could tell he didn’t think he’d done anything wrong.

I’m surprised Todd Palin didn’t drive his snowmobile down to New York City and shove Letterman’s stinky cigar where the sun don’t shine, right after he wiped that gap tooth grin off his face!

For a millionaire with his own fancy TV program, David Letterman acts more like David Bitterman. What’s he so mad about anyway? He’s got...

It is pretty sad commentary when the editor of World Weekly News can be counted on to speak the obvious truth while the Main Stream Media can not. God bless Ed Anger.

I adore Governor Palin and as things stand today, she would be my first choice for the GOP presidential candidate in 2012. I never have watched David Letterman except for brief spots to see a particular interview. His humor doesn’t appeal to me. Also, I think he is biased in his targets,as are 99.9% of Hollywood types.

Now that all being said.....I think it is time for Governor Palin to let this go. It makes her look like her skin is too thin. I fully agree Letterman was out of line, but they all (comedians) usually are. Governor Palin is milking this for publicity...we all can see this. It will backfire on her. I want her to win, but don’t use the Dems distort and exagerate tactics....even if the target is worthy. WE are better than that.

He's mad because he's an old, late, late parent (forgive the pun), who's frail with serious health problems that may mean he possibly won't see or help his Son buy his first car, graduate, get married, and all because he bought into the lie that his career and narcissistic ego were more important than anything else on offer.

I bet he secretly looks at the Palins, with Grandmum Sarah, who's gonna watch her Grandchildren grow up, and sees everything he can now, never ever have, so why wouldn't he be bitter?

Why is it everyone on our side who has to let things go?

I agree, I think She should offer a tongue in cheek slant in retort, and rise above at leave Letterman to his crass satire.

The point (I think) is not that this comedian was “out of line”...it’s that this kind of thing is said about white Christian Conservative politicians and their families...often.

And there’s rarely a problem with it. Look at what Imus said about the black female basketball players...that was way out of line too...and he immediately got suspended.

With Letterman...it’s somehow all ok. It should not be ok...how about the same politically correct standard applying to liberals that is applied to conservatives?

It's his style. Most late night comics have relied satire of other public figures. Those jokes are usually funny, even to the person the joke is on.

Letterman's 'brand' has always been ridicule, which is both childish and cruel. It's school yard stuff and I have never thought the guy was the least bit funny.

Her 14-year old daughter was the target of a rape fantasy on prime-time television. Shame on you.

We can call CBS New York and complain that rape is a violent act and there is nothing funny about it.

This is our time to complain and, if nothing else, it will make you fell GOOD!

whenever I hear Letterman’s name I always think of that guy Norm MacDonald that did that impression of him on Saturday Night Live. It’s dead on...him as Dave is kind of drooly and all he says is “got any guy? got any gum?” which in reality, that is essentially what he does.

I don’t understand his success.

I agree. And to the people who say "she put her kids out there so she gets what she deserves" I say BS. The MEDIA put her kids out there and magnified everything about them from a teen pregnancy to a Down baby to a spit comb of Trig's hair.

The Governor is not 'milking' anything.. she is calling out a disgusting comedian, drawing attention to a corrupt, shameless media and protecting her children.

If this had not happened the GCM would have ignored the Exxon pipeline news and her achievements on the behalf of our energy needs.

Yes It was obvious that Lauer’s question to her about the natural gas pipeline from the North Slope was just a formality to get through so he could her ask her more juicy, gossipy questions about a fellow media scumbag.

A lib friend of mine wrote on my facebook that he didn’t know what the big deal was, the Palins are milking it, etc.
I said what if he had made that joke about Barry’s daughter(s)? What would the reaction be? Then I mentioned
that female politicians are only seen for their looks (the
slutty flight attendant remark)—and at least Sarah’s a Republican, thus MSM “humor” guys like Bitterman can joke
about her.

I think you are wrong. She needs to nail anybody and everybody to the wall that so much as Mentions her kids.
Do it now, do it often and do it as hard as she can. If Letterman loses viewers, ratings, or his job over this, fewer will try in the future. Kids should be off limits, and she needs to teach them that lesson now. If she goes after them every time, it will be expected behavior, and they will be far less likely to do it.
