Meade: Now she's been nominated for the Supreme Court. What would her impact be on the Supreme Court, do you think?
Bush: I think she'd pull a ripcord just at the right time and make a very nice parachutist. I'm going to leave that to others to analyze, but she should be given a fair hearing. She should be accorded every courtesy that goes with her record as a judge and her aspirations to be a Supreme Court justice. And I have a feeling she will be confirmed, but again, I don't go into that day in and day out.
Meade: I asked that because first lady Laura Bush was quoted this week as saying, "She's a winner." You know, "I think she'd do things." And I just wondered if you agreed.
Bush: Well, I wouldn't go as far as to say a winner, because I don't know her that well. But I think she's had a distinguished record on the bench and she should be entitled to fair hearings.
I like the way Sen. John Cornyn said it. I mean, he may vote for her, he may not. But he's been backing away from these -- backing off from those who use radical statements to describe her or to attribute things to her that may or may not be true.
I mean, she was called by somebody a "racist." Well, that's not right. I mean, it's not fair. It doesn't help the process to be out there name-calling. So let them decide whether they want to vote for her or not, and get on with it.

GHWB passed the Americans with Disabilities act, which has been a nightmare of additional regulation and bureaucracy - something which serves Democrats.
So maybe he is not the one whose opinion should matter so much.

What does it tell us about RINOs when they can’t call a spade a spade? Even racist illiterates of the left know she is a racist. GHWBush and RINOs in denial have proven once more they are or are becoming even more degenerate.
This interview could lend credence to the idea that GHWB know exactly what he was getting in David Souter, and that Souter was what he wanted for his first SCOTUS appointment.

PSSSSTTT! I’ll let you in on a little secret... George was Never a Senator... unless it was years and years before. He is credited with saving the Republican Party during the Nixon Resignation and refused a promised VP Nomination in return for the Ambassadorship to China. The Chinese Greatly Respected and Honored both He and His family during that time! The Chinese Respect is from First Hand Knowledge!

As G*d is my witness I would have bet good money he came from the Senate. I guess because he acted and governed so much like one.
I respect the man but found his governance to be squishy and compromising to the extreme.

You are close tho. George H.W. was born to Senator Prescott Bush and wife and after being the youngest Naval Pilot in WWII, then graduating from YALE, forming his own Oil Company in West Texas and becoming a self made Millionaire by the time he was 40, he entered politics and was elected to the House of Representatives, before serving as Ambassador to China, CIA Director and then V.P. for Ronald Reagan:-) Quite a career!
